It does say something about the human psyche how every person I’ve seen playing this game completely fills their inventory with the acid mushroom first thing like “we don’t know what I is or what it does but I need to own them all”

i swear its the sound effect of picking them.

it's only that easy now since they removed the intendet movement from them. They used to hide (retract) in early development and were too hard to pick up.

The habitat builder is one of the first things that is available in the fabricator. Good that you finally found it! ( 4:53:18 ) 😄 Edit: I started a new game and the habitat builder is in the fabricator when you splash down in the pod from the very beginning of the game.

This is the second channel's playthrough in a row where I hear someone saying they wish they had a light with flares in their quick items list. At least in this one you weren't holding an unlit flare in your hand while you said it like the last person was 😂 I'm guessing people don't realize you hold onto the lit flare and it never goes out, it's not really how a flare is used in real life. (I've actually done it, the smoke is so so terrible to breathe)

This game is amazing, although it punishes not reading what little information the PDA holds in the early game. There is very little handholding, and almost all of it is contained in the knowledge base entries and blueprints. Not reading what is available, and not fabricating certain crucial tools/equipment early on, can make Subnautica‘s first one or two hours a rough experience for first-time players.
@melissanotthewebsbusiness7272 Жыл бұрын
I mean, reading the PDA would show the floater and rabbit ray weren't "playing" together: Poor rabbit ray, I hope she rescues it! 💀
@sylvesterstillalone18 ай бұрын
Totally agree! I hate when people completely ignore the PDA and reading up entries. What's worse is that when they also stream it when it's their first time and mistake it for an open-world exploring-kinda game, not paying full attention and get distracted by chat - that just really ruins the overall quality experience one could've had imo.

This game definitely does not hold your hand or paint everything you need yellow. The one tip that is helpful for any new player: if you're stuck and don't know what to do next, go deeper.
@emmaxmareevods4 ай бұрын
It definitely does not! I may have had an easier time if I read everything but there was a lot of reading and it was a bit much while I was streaming. I wouldn’t mind giving the game another try and actually finishing the story though!

@@justinsmith8860 It's not bad advice, how was she supposed to know when it's her first time playing the game? Can't expect the most immersive route when you don't know what's happening and the game gives you the option to entirely skip many of the most immersive parts. You mentioned in a reply to one of the comments here that you never finished the game. I decided to take a peek and scrub through your part 5, the "finale," and you weren't kidding! :-o There is so much of the story that you didn't progress through that you even made a comment that you didn't know if it was possible to "finish" the game. (It definitely is.) Your final episode tamed a lot of base building, and based on what you were doing, I can see where you might have lost interest. It seems like you posted these videos to KZbin in 2023, but they represented gameplay you had done in 2022, so I'm guessing you don't have any plans to go back and see what the story was all about. But it would definitely be interesting to see you pursue the story element and finish that.

@@emmaxmareevods Don't worry, pretty much all of the playthroughs I've seen have done this. I'm guessing the split focus trying to engage with an audience and play the game sometimes can have some funny results. Most probably don't think the game would simulate speed, but it does. The O2 tank slow you down the bigger it is, but this is again compensated with fins and so on. Hope you'll have fun with it. It's a pretty(visually), scary and fun game with a nice story as well. No idea how far you've gotten as this is a 2 week old VOD, but best advice is to scan everything and read the PDA entry. There might be some clues ;) Like the rock you break in the starting area says in the PDA that it only give titanium and copper.
@emmaxmareevods Жыл бұрын
Yeah streaming games for the first time can make you miss things, plus I don't allow back seating as I like trying to figure things out myself. If you watch more of my playthrough you'll see I end up asking a lot of questions and my community helps a lot. This is actually an 8 month old VOD 😅 I was really enjoying it but unfortunately didn't finish the story since this was just before October and I wanted to play some horror. I would like to go back to it one day and finish the story though!

@@emmaxmareevods This explains some missing features. They patched the game and added some quality of life stuff from Below Zero. You can now pin recipes so they appear on the right side. They also added an option to pause game while PDA is open, at least on PC.

"We know more about space than we do about the deep ocean." -- Myth. We know way more about the ocean since space is...much, much bigger. Like bigger than you can imagine.
@magus104 Жыл бұрын
Not to mention most of our space "knowledge" is theory based off theoretical math that so far has worked out to seem accurate. Until we hit a speed bump that casts some doubt but then people will assume whole theories are wrong because the math has to be right. Instead of maybe the math just isnt accounting for factors we dont know of yet.

The truism is true -- assuming you look at percentages rather than absolute volume. Te vast majority of space (99.99999999999%) of space is empty of anything other than photons, so we know everything there is to know about that volume. Of the remainder, we have a pretty good idea 9f where the stars are, at least, and a pretty good handle on how they work. However, under the oceans the vast majority of the volume contains life and thus is potentially "unique" with the potential of expanding our knowledge in some way.
@visvivalaw Жыл бұрын
@@jmr5125 No we do not. And no we do not. You are vastly, massively unfamiliar with the topic. Of those stars, which have planets? We don't know. The James Webb telescope has discovered new galaxies that challenge our most basic theories. Our understanding of the universe is poor and incomplete. As opposed to the ocean floor, which has been thoroughly mapped.

55 minutes to figure out that the bladderfish is used to make water . . . that has to be some kind of record! 1 hour 19 minutes, figures out the Medical Kit fabricator. I'm 50 years old, and at summer camp as a teenager, one of the rules was "no PDA" (public display of affection). As a 20 something I had a Compaq PDA (personal data assistant). The only change is that the digital one has completely fallen out of use, so it's no surprise that late millennials and younger have never heard of it.
