Subnautica is a 2018 action-adventure survival game developed and published by Unknown Worlds Entertainment. The player controls a survivor of a spaceship crash on an alien oceanic planet, which they are free to explore. On my first play through, the reaper behind the Aurora followed me back all the way to the life pod in the shallows. I had no choice but to kill it with my thermo blade. It took a while, but it wasn’t too hard because the reaper was glitching out and couldn’t swim properly in the shallow waters.

@@michalkuban9888 It was fairly early in my play through and I didn’t have access to the prawn suit yet. My thermo blade was the only method I had available to me to take it down. It was either that or abandon the shallows. I got some nice screenshots for the time capsule, though.

Here's a base building tip that no one has mentioned yet: If you build a trash can inside your base, guess what, you can trash the items which you don't need so that they get deleted from the game files instead of leaving them on the ocean floor. This helps the game to save some assets and makes stuff load faster!

Wow. I've never seen someone come face-to-face with an adult _____ Leviathan so early in their playthrough. Mati is pushing the limits of what gamers are capable of. Also, a heart rate monitor would be great. I remember I used one while streaming this game and it jumped to 130 at one point.

Lol Edit; when you're building, in your top left, you should get a notice and number about structural integrity, you can use foundations and supports to help make sure your base doesnt break down. Also, i'd recommend getting the moonpool and plant a few trees or melons in your base, simply for constant food and water

I saw a marine biologist play this game, at first the game really looks giant, but once I saw her going around the same maps multiple times I started to feel more oriented and you can grasp the size of each map.

Yes, the journey continues! Keep 'em coming Mati! Some tips if you're interested: -The Reaper Leviathan can be heard from quite far away, because it's constantly roaring (I actually heard it a few times in the first 2 eps before you encountered it). Next time you find yourself near one, listen to what it sounds like at a distance and memorize it. It'll save your life, because if you can hear it... it knows where you are. -An easily overlooked but useful item is the grav trap, i recommend building one. Throw it out in an area with lots of small fish and see what happens :) -If you want to scan Leviathans or anything that is actively trying to eat you, the Stasis rifle will make that a lot easier for you! -Modification station and vehicle upgrade console both have BIG upgrades, you're gonna want to build those. -if you ever want to build another base or move the one you have now, there's a nice spot for it. It's a place where the Kelp forest, Mushroom forest (place with the jelly rays), and red grass biomes all intersect. Varied resources in all directions, and there's more biomes to be found at the edges of the mushroom forest. -Remember to self scan, as well as anything unusual! -You can also make water using bleach (salt + coral tube) instead of bladderfish, which gives you more. -When you need a lot of titanium, the Kelp forest is LOADED with metal salvage you can deconstruct. Stalkers collect them, you can follow them to their hoarding spots. Hope that helps, Enjoy!

Just want to give you some base building tips. The glass dome is an add-on to the multipurpose room, also you don't need bladder fish check your blueprints. The flooding must have been a minor glitch, with one window and above 100 meters you shouldn't have structural integrity issues yet, oh yeah structural integrity is a thing in base building, you never want the integrity to go below 0, if you do your base will have breaches like what you had. The structural integrity doesn't decrease over time, it changes as you build you will see + (number) or - (number) to base hull strength and your bases total integrity the plus and minus are the change to your bases integrity and it shows you the total integrity of your base left so you know when you need to do a bit of reinforcing before you can continue to build. Foundation improve integrity, bulkheads improve integrity and reinforced walls improve integrity. Building additional compartments (included walkways) decrease the integrity, your depth influences your overall starting integrity, glass in your modules (such as windows) really decrease integrity, certain rooms and machines decrease integrity more than others.

Little tip to help prevent base flooding! Build some reinforced walls!! The windows decrease hull integrity so its good to put reinforced walls to increase the integrity. Its in your builder tool blueprints!!

Regular mode makes it so you have to keep structures relatively small, but in creative mode it's possible to build so big the game's own integrity breaks :)

This is turning out to be an interesting game I didn't know about. I'm loving watching Mati playing it and getting some jump scares as well. Being a survival game, I'm surprised Mati hasn't got a proper weapon to defend himself. That base is getting a very good feeling as a home, but the walls don't look very strong. I bought this game after your first episode and I just beat it and learned a few things. Scrap metal gives you 4 titanium and it can be found everywhere especially in the shallows and ALWAYS NEAR STALKERS, they love the scrap metal. Limestone only gives copper and titanium. sandstone only gives lead, silver and gold. Shale gives diamond and lithium. Keep trucking and explore more of the things you can build at your base. Scanner room is clutch!

So. As it stands with where you are right now. I believe that you should build the Power Efficiency, Reinforcement and the next Depth Modules to put in your Seamoth. For you will need them for exploring and going deep to scavenge thru Wrecks. As for continuing the story, I don't think you should at least until you've built the Prawn Suit. With it having the Depth Mark 2 and Jet Jump Upgrade Modules. Having the Cyclops with its second Depth upgrade, Sonar, Power Efficiency and Docking Bay Repair Bay would be best. But, again in my own opinion, I wouldn't take the Cyclops down deep until you at minimum have a small locker, half full of Power Cells. The Sonar on the Cyclops will suck the energy from those Cells like a man dying of thirst, getting to drink from a hose lmao. But when you are ready to do deeper and progress the story. I recommend the entrance either from the North(between Gun Island and the Aurora) or the entrance below the Floating Island to the South. The Southern entrance is a little bit of a tight fit for the Cyclops but it will still go thru if you just take your time. As for your base, to keep it from getting flooded, build some Reinforcement Panels(or whatever they are called lol) onto your base. Or build Foundations. Those will increase your bases structural integrity. Hopefully I didn't spoil anything to badly for ya with my advice and that it is able to help ya! Love the videos my man!

Btw. having an extra O2 tank is not that bad idea... you can keep it full and use it emergency (switch with your empty one). Saved my life countless times. Upgrade it to max to ofc.

Quick tip: You can make a way better water source using salt and tube coral which makes bleach. Just one bleach will make you two bottles that give you 30 H2O each instead of one bottle with 20 H2O from a bladder fish. Also when you get a water filtration machine it makes salt for you plus extra 50 H2O water bottles. (THIS USES A LOT OF POWER - SET UP A THERMAL PLANT WITH POWER TRANSMITTERS FOR INFINITE POWER) Also these videos are really entertaining definitely keep it up!

Non spoiler advice : Always farm useful items in external growbed. Plants are not biome dependant when farming so you can have all essential plants in every Atlantis you build. Use seeds to plant them instead of samples for better results. Edible plants give more seeds before being destroyed so manage their ratio and you can quickly grow lots of them. Use sleep when farming for faster plant/fruit growth as time always skips about 12 hours.

Quick tip, while you were swimming back from the dead zone you surfaced a few times to talk to the audience. It might be prudent to tap X to put the seaglide away while doing so, because if the propeller isn’t spinning, it’s not speeding you up, and just having it “presented” on screen drains its battery

Really enjoying the playthrough so far! While losing a vehicle is heartbreaking, I think playing it through is the way to go. There may be some times where a reload is best (the game can bug out at times), but since there's not really a huge penalty for death, keeping the vehicle destruction as is makes the stakes higher; which, in turn, enhances the danger and exploration. Just my 2 cents, though. Feel free to play however you'd like :) Also I think that plant that was shooting stuff at you can also poke holes in your base. So it might be necessary to do a bit of pruning around Atlantis ;)
