There are actually 2 ion cubea in the sea emperor pool but one is hidden in the caves and the other is hidden I think the other way from the incubator

Inside of the sea emperor’s containment area, if you go into a crevice (it might be in the far right corner but I’m not sure) there is another ion cube that can be used for the teleporter

i think the maximum oxygen thing is 2 seconds per 3 units, since i guess maybe subnautica did some sort of patch note where they made it less daunting, for some reason

A hint for easier access to drinkable water in the early game: it can be crafted using bleach which is made out of salt (found in the kelp forests and grassy plateaus) and the coral tube samples which can be harvested from in the safe shallows using the knife. I feel this easy method of getting drinkable water is often overlooked. Maybe it was a banned method for this challenge as bladderfish should be used, but I‘ll leave it here in case anyone finds it helpful. On topic: I like these challenge runs. Maybe you could do one from time to time in between your lore videos, which I really enjoy :) Edit: It is bleach, not hydrochloric acid as I originally wrote. Thank you @therealchristiansmith for making me aware.

yeah i was never out of water using this method, also because the filtration machine gives you water and salt then if you have some corals on hand you can use that salt for more water

I think another version of this challenge would have been using brain coral instead since you can put it in a grow bed. Without having midtrip refills, I think it would be quite tedious.

If I remember correctly, in the Sea Emperor's chamber, there is a random Ion cube just sitting in the small cave system within the enclosure, so you got the free one on the pedistal to power the egg thingy, and the one in the cave system to power the tele incase you didn't bring one. If I did remembered correctly, it could have saved ya an extra trip. Either way, great video! If only the water received from putting bladder fish in the fabricator was more lucrative, that way you'd solve all 4 needs with just the bladder fish (considering health regens when food and water are high.)
