They are cast Zinc, and they are 35% lighter than lead. They have all been run through a Lee sizing die for the caliber. the 9mm should be about 77gr and with auto pistol powder i get over 1500 fps. Zinc is harder than lead but softer than copper so, no need to use lube and they keep your barrel clean. you should be good on the 8.6 because I also ran through the lee sizing die but, always measure to make sure you get the oal right for your barrel. I used the 6.5 cast rounds in my creedmoor for plinking but they should be great in a grendel

@@dylanlowe2984 you can use a NOE mold NOE HTC339-315-FN-BZ1 drops a 191 grain Zn bullet. It’s great for plinking and to fire form new brass. You just have to keep the mold hot to avoid damaging the mold with the hard Zn.

@@leoncordero9083 Surprised your using an aluminum mold for casting zinc. I thought you "needed" a steel mold due to the higher temperatures?

using cast bullets with big bore rifles is a good way to get cheap projectiles. I reload for .50 Beowulf. but ended up having to use gas checks to cut down on leading . I shot two shots without gas checks and half the bullet vaporized coming out the barrel leaded the barrel slightly and covered the brake with melted lead. total projectile weight powder coated and gas checked comes out at 470 grains

I was looking at reloading with “Matt’s bullets”600 gr S&W bullets in my 50 Beowulf to try to get the bullet subsonic they have gas checks Do you think this is possible?

@@dylanlowe2984 I've seen online that people are loading incredibly heavy loads with there Beowulf, find some load data start well under it and go from there. always check everything 3-4 times before ever loading any ammunition. I've used lil gun and accurate 1680. you can load any weight bullet subsonic you don't have to go so heavy as well. I'm right about 1200 fps. I could lower my powder charge and be subsonic in no time

I have Accurate 1680 that I use to reload 8.6 blackout, I was have trouble finding anyone that reloaded the 50 Beowulf subsonic so I was just trying to check with you to make sure it sounds doable based on what you said it should be easy to get 600 grains subsonic for hog hunting Thanks

With the high twist rate I'd be a bit leery of running straight lead, I think there would be some galling or some stripping. In my mind the lead would just slide and the rifling would act like a file and leave behind pieces of lead in the rifling.

These are some sort of zinc mix. I’ll find out more!

I'm curious how any cast bullet will do in the 1/3 twist? Cast bullets generally like a slower twist.
