I retired from journalism after 22 years and wrote for magazines and newspapers. Set up my first substack in 2021 and my second substack this past week. Thus far. Substack has been perfectly fine for me . I had no expectations other than just having a platform for further writing and there have been no problems thus far. In fact, it just seems to be very writer focused and scribe centric. No distractions, no ads, no other factors. Just your text sent to readers. It just seems to fit me comfortably thus far. I even tried a podcast- something I never wanted to do- this past week. I don't have a lot of subscribers but substack does seem to work.

Means a lot. Thanks for your nice reply on X and here 😊 it's a walkthrough. I know so many who are on the fence. Especially as a beginner you feel overwhelmed and don't know where to start. Substack makes it super easy to get started, build and audience and monetize your work🎉

Wow Kristina, congrats! June Kirri from Medium here 💪😊 I might need that Substack course.
@_KristinaGod9 ай бұрын
Hey June, it's a no brainier because it comes with the paid subscription. This means it's $7 and then you get access to the community. There will also be a Medium School but I'll cooperate with other writers. You could be part of this as well. So again it's easy. Become a paid Substack sub. Linda and 4 others from our Bootcamp are part of it. Doors will open this week. Hope to see you inside ❤️

Oh Kristi 😲 Thanks so much. To be honest, last week I reached a point where I started to question my teaching style, my English, and my whole idea of building this channel. Okay I guess the sleepless nights with my baby had to do with it... Messages like this keep me going! Thanks for this and being part of my community and our Substack 🏫 School. Let's give it a try and improve while building it 👍

@@jamcankk that's wonderful. I'm thankful for Arnold Schwarzenegger or Diane Krueger or other German speaking actors that paved the way for loving the German / Austrian accent. 😂 Thanks so much for this feedback!! Hugs!

how long should a newsletter article be?
@_KristinaGod9 ай бұрын
Hi Michael, great question. From a marketing perspective there are different rules you could follow. I think the most important factors are: Short and sweet. Propel should understand the purpose of your email. No text blocks so people can scan it and get what they should do. Don't bury your calls to action in a text block. As for Substack there's a suggested email length. At some point the editor will say your email is too long Hope this helps already. Definitely a question I'll put on my list to answer on my KZbin channel soon. Maybe an FAQ of email marketing rules? More questions? You can AMA Thanks and take care, Kristina

So... Can you repurpose Medium content?And audience? Also ease tell us when you have time, about your experience with Gumroad. Thankyou. Your chanel is very useful.
@_KristinaGod9 ай бұрын
Hi Louise, 👋 sure. You can repurpose Medium content and vice versa. I see many people doing this. Even Tim Denning. Plus Substack recommends republishing your best posts. Interesting approach. Sure, I can share more about Gumroad. I don't sell an actual product there but I already earned about 700 dollar with free products 😆 that's also an interesting approach. Would you be interested to learn more about this? What else would you be interested in? Thanks a lot for your kind feedback. Means a lot ❤️ Kristina

@@_KristinaGod You knowledge is super useful. I noticed yiu had Gumroad linked. I know of a KZbin man who uses Gumroad for his books. I am curious about cross pollination, Substack when still finding one's niche.

@@_KristinaGod And, this is an odd one, but managing writing and publishing tasks time wise, with mothering and housework. A crime novelist I know says she nuts out murder plots while doing the laundry.

@@_KristinaGod One more. Whitney Webb (Substack) says AI will dominate 90% of internet content by 2025 and I wonder how that might impact us writers. Should we pivot?
