New to substance designer and I'm not understanding how you made the normal map for this material

Thanks a lot, Javier, nicely done. I get stuck at the point when the Tile Sampler and Levels go into the Distance node. When I crank up the distance, it just blurs into pure white. Any ideas?
@MeshModeler4 жыл бұрын
Use the levels to make your mask completely white, no grayscale values. On the distance node make sure your settings are "grayscale", and "only source". Hope that helps :) Best.,

Its colour variation you get in the tile before that, turn that up to 100

Is the get slope node a custom node? Is it similar to using a normal-curvature smooth-histogram scan node combo? Thanks for this gold mine!

@@MeshModeler I've been looking for this one too, but it's no longer available. The link just goes to the adobe community assets page now. Is there somewhere else it's posted, or a brief summary of how to make it somewhere? Thanks either way!
@@MeshModeler Thank you so much, Javier! I really appreciated your video! I've learned a lot of nodes from it! Because I'm a newbie to Substance Designer, I got lost after 20:38. It would be much better if you could share how you created the normal and ambient occlusion nodes.👍👍👍
