Hello. Just stumbled across your tutorial while looking for a way to create tileable or procedural textures in Substance Painter as an alternative to Substance Designer. I’m very new to Designer but I’m more familiar with Painter. And I guess my question is that once you’ve done this method, does it tile properly? Like if I made a tile using your method and then made a floor from those tiles, would it tile properly or will there be very visible seams? Hope my question makes sense.

Awesome! Thanks for this. I'm a noob substance painter user so this was a little too fast for me but I will go thru it again and see if I can duplicate your process in painter and get back to you.

Could you perhaps make a tutorial/or perhaps a paid lesson/tutoring session for creating geometrically complex color masks for archviz materials, such as complex mosaic materials? What is the optimal worfkflow for replicating such materials? Most of the tutorials are mostly geared towards rather natural looking assets, not the pristine, novel geometric materials we often use in archviz, and I find myself struggling at times.

Very useful tutorial very helpful thank you! "My products are mostly geared towards artists with a bit of previous experience with 3D/2D" Sure I like it. Still, at crucial places, hover a little. To the benefit of all!

But the problem is (at 2:30 ) that we don't have the mask file! How do you make the mask file? I have bought the Ornaments vol1 and vol 2 but cannot use it as the Japanese pack cause there are no mask files included so everything is used with one material unlike the Japanese ornaments that because they have the mask files one can use more materials.
@JROTools5 жыл бұрын
Hello, The mask files are available for my Japanese Ornament tiles, but you can easily make masks for your own tiles. I'm also working on a tutorial on how to make masks yourself.
@AnthonyFassolas5 жыл бұрын
@@JROTools First we learn how to make masks and then how to use them, you've been saying about this tutorial for quite some time now. Is is an important part of the packs you are selling.

@@AnthonyFassolas Yeah it has taken longer than expected, but I promise you it's coming, My products are mostly geared towards artists with a bit of previous experience with 3D/2D, so most already has the knowledge to create their own masks which is why it haven't been on top of my list, but it's coming. But I have products with masks included, for anyone that might be reading this, just check the descriptions for the products at purchase.
