Since you are doing a full front end disassembly to re build, either lifted or stock height, take a good look and cleaning to the upper control arm mount area. There is a chance you can nock out a couple C clip style plates that narrow the alingment and once you knock them out the upper control arm will hame MUCH MORE adjustability. It depends on the year and its not really a standard across the board but one of those cool little tricks that might work if you got it.

Great Job. Be kind to those steering knuckles. No one makes those anymore. Those wheel hub bolts are special sized, and I think only chevy has em. They tend to round off instantly. Usually you have to grind/cut the heads off to get the hub out.

@@moises9900 I've been reading that the lower control arms from an AWD Astro will fit the GMT400 k1500 trucks as a direct replacement. They are available new, I haven't taken the leap yet, but I've seen LOTS of people saying they fit and work just fine.

For anyone looking at buying the mevotech upper control arms and upgrading the ball joints, I just recieved one with a bolts and one with rivets. They can be ground off but you will need an angle grinder

Due to a accident, most of the removal is mute, upper arm for sure, buddy said not to worry about lower, so I am replacing upper, C.V joint and both ball joints and just for kicks the hub as that tire took the brunt of the hit.

They are the original control arms, they have been cleaned up and painted. The junk yard is the only option these days, they do not make a replacement

Hey. I'm trying to remove my lower control arms on my 1994 k150p Sierra. There is a bar located on the large hexagonal shaped area on the left side of the control arm in the video. Do you know how to remove that bar itself? This is the most helpful video I've seen. You have the same suspension I do. Just without that bar.

I have 92 blazer k1500 (not the jimmy s10) i took it to the shop for front end suspension and not even that shop could find lower control arms they called everywhere even the dealer and still couldn't find anything. Are any of the lower control arms interchangeable?
