Just going to share some memories. I started officially playing minecraft back in April 2014, or maybe even earlier than that, anyway I played it on my dad's phone. Pocket Edition. I thought I was the coolest guy having that game and I played a lot of it. I think I discovered minecraft from KZbinrs, like the AnnoyingOrange, DanTDM, Stampy etc. Me and my brother loved those videos. Friends at school would talk about minecraft all the time but I never played it so I would try to relate, but never really understand. So one day my parents decided we could play minecraft. My dad bought it on his phone and I played it all the time. On Sundays before church, all the cool kids would play minecraft on their phones and make a server together. I got to join them. They helped me make worlds and survive the night. It was awesome. Couple years later, I saved all my birthday money and finally persuaded my parents to take me to the videogame store. I bought minecraft for the Xbox 360 and I got the hang of it after playing it with my dad. Later on friends would come over and we would make worlds, wreak havoc on villages and stuff like that. I was never too good with the survival gameplay ;). We would make worlds my brother and I, and occasionally some friends would come over and we would play together. I also remember playing at my cousins house, whether they lived 8 hours away or in the next city over. I think I have the most memories from playing with friends on the xbox, I really wish I could go back to those days... After a couple more years I would buy the computer version of minecraft, I would make cities and worlds with the craziest things, like giant toasters and lava houses. I always had fun playing on the computer. I would have friends and family over and show them my worlds and give them little tours. My best friend played minecraft too, and when at his house we would take turns playing minecraft on their computer. Running around building things and occasionally vandalizing his cousins worlds on his pc. All in good fun though. He made an entire city through the course of three or four years. I got to help with roads and other houses. I loved it because everyone would build a house or store in that world and there was always a story for everything. We all got to share that world and create things with each other. I think it was called 'old town' or something like that. Eventually we got older, played other games and minecraft was slowly becoming something of the past. 'old town' eventually died off too, I think the save game corrupted with a new update and it was all gone. My friend cried when he lost that world. We all put so much work into it, especially him. Anyway, minecraft is that type of game that can never grow old. Never become something that's boring. It's full of endless possibilities, endless fun and a great place for someone with a crazy imagination. I got to watch KZbinrs grow into what they are today. I remember watching the videos where DanTDM used to swear, and only ever play minecraft. Now he's crazy popular and plays a large variety of games. AnnoyingOrange was very popular too, now he's gone. My point is, we all have something in common. We are connected with a single thing. Minecraft. We all have heard of it, played it and contributed to the community of the game. It's something that can, in a way, connect the world. Bring us all together. I love that. Thank you, minecraft. For the memories, nostalgia and the endless hours of fun.

Watching the color fade away is like a memory that slowly deteriorates down to only the basic detail. It's like when you take a memory of a homecoming party with all the faces you recognize later becoming a memory where everyone looked like only three or four different people and the room looked empty. Even worse, the faces were all blurred.

I said in 2011 that this game would never die, sure I might get sick of it, but I'd always come back. I have it running in the tab and while it will never ever feel like those summer nights in 2012 when I came home from my crappy job to swallow my woes in blocks I still feel just as happy. I have been diagnosed with (not mild not severe, a little in the middle) depression. They told me to stop playing those games on my console and I did. It got worse. Later, I found Minecraft. A calm, fun game for all ages. After saving up the money I got it. That's where everything went bright. I still remember the houses I built and the goals I made throughout the game. Before I knew it, I felt happy again. You don't need friends to be happy. There are things out there that make friends just an option. Before I knew it, everyone was shocked at how quick I restored my happiness. I will embrace that memory forever. I still play it to this day and when I look back on my old worlds I switch versions so I can feel the nostalgia again.

After waking up, you hurry over to your pc, not even taking the time to make your bed or get breakfast, even though you’re starving. you quickly open up minecraft, you sign in, remembering your username and password by heart. you are still in the old version that you used to play in. you log into your old world, look around. all the memories start flooding back to you. “i’m.. home.” you whisper in a shaky breath, trying to control this odd flood of emotions coming to you. you look around, not even acknowledging the world outside of minecraft. you suddenly see a pop up in the corner of the screen. “(your old friend’s username) Has Joined The Game.” you start panicking, wondering if they remember you, you rush over to where they last spawned in.. the old house you two built together. a message pops up in the chat “Hey.. man it’s been a while, do you remember me?” your friend asked. “yes of course i remember you ! how are you?” you two talk for about a while, not realizing how much time has passed. then your friend says: “it’s late for me here.. i’ve got to go. but before i do- i need to ask you something” you respond as: “aw okay- and yeah of course you can ask me anything” “...we never did defeat the ender dragon, did we?” “no.. no we didn’t” “then what about we do? tomorrow, okay?” “yes!” (your friend’s username) Has Left The Game. you log off, crying, happy you got to see them again. you thought that you would never play minecraft again- and never get the same nostalgia from it again, or create new memories with it again. but you were wrong. you were so, so very wrong.

In 2013 i opened youtube on my Samsung duos, on this little white phone, that i missed somewhere this day. On of the first videos that i ever watched was some russian minecraft KZbinr (because i'm RU too). He with friends was playing some map pr sth.. One thing that i know surely is that this was the most exciting video ever. I still cannot find this specific video, but that's how i learned this word. Minecraft. After some time a grew up a little and discover Minecraft Pocket Edition, my first ever experience with this game in terms of actual gameplay. I just cannot describe how good it was and how happy my face was, when I and my friend Nikita are finally joined multiplayer. We tried so many times for a few months. We just stand up and hug together, because how happy we were. Times were flying, we slowly went to pc versions, installing mods, maps and etc. I still remember those cheap accounts, that we was buying to play on Hypixel and i remember Flans mod. Oh man. Nikita slowly started to change, school required more attention and we start talking very little. Right now it's been around 4-3 years since we last played. We were actually going in the same school, but now even there our roads went in opposite directions. I miss those days.

You know, I just realized something. The moments you have now, the feelings you're going through right now, all mean something. You'll remember these thoughts and experiences the next day, and the next, and the next. Things fade over time, but they never really go away. When you were 5 or 6 and playing Minecraft on your parent's computer, you weren't doing that to better to future. You were having fun. You were enjoying yourself. And to this day, you might still be thinking back to that. Those moments left an impact on you. You might think back to that when you’re happy, or when you’re sad. You could wish you were back there, back then. And even though you know it’s not possible, you still yearn to be able to. To a time where things might’ve been easier. Problems that seem smaller than the ones you have now. And in twenty years, you could still be thinking back to those days. You can think that things are never going to get better, but someday, you might have another moment like that. And, honestly, life really sort of seems worth it, just for those moments. I should probably sleep.

The decade of Minecraft is almost over. Yeah, the 2010s had their ups and downs, but for most of us, it was our childhood. And Minecraft was such a big part of our childhoods that we will never forget it. Minecraft is something beautiful that we will never forget. Hopefully in 20 years we will be able to look back on Minecraft and watch these old videos again. Maybe Minecraft will come back again in our time. Maybe Minecraft will come back in time for our children to experience it. Maybe KZbin will delete old videos of Minecraft because of this age thing. Minecraft has changed lifes. It has helped us in our worst, and encouraged us in our best. It has come a long way, this silly video game. It has seen KZbinrs get popular because of it, it has seen those very KZbinrs move away from it. It's very easy to find a newer KZbinr prospering off of the very game that us 2010s kids called home. And hopefully in this new decade, we can find new Minecraft KZbinrs to make popular. To keep the legacy going. So log onto that old Xbox 360 of yours. Check on your dogs. Try to contact those old friends. Look at your builds. Reflect on it. Make sure to get a good look at everything, because you never know when it will be gone.

It's been ten years. You start to forget the things you should remember. And you can't stop remembering the things you should forget. We always had the power. Not anymore. All we have is each other.

When I have grandchildren: Kids imma tell you a story. “Takes a hit of the joint” Back when I was your age it was 2012. I have no idea what you have nowadays for entertainment. But back then, I had something called a PC computer. The game I played was called Minecraft. It was before school mattered. Before life got complicated. But you haven’t gotten there yet. I would come home from school every day and get on Minecraft. Sometimes I would get on with a friend or two. We would build things. Survive in the wild. And just have a good time. We didnt know we were making memories. I played Minecraft until life got complicated. I was playing with one of my best friends in the game. He told me one time that he had to get off for the night and that we should do whatever that thing was tomorrow. I was excited to get back on the game the next day with him. He never logged on that day. Nor did he the next day. Or the next. And the next. I gave up eventually. The last time I ever checked his account was in high school. “Last online, 7 Years ago.” I started crying. I missed Minecraft. I really wanted to go back in time, but that just simply isn’t possible. Well is it? Idek. My lesson to you kids is that life is short. And your childhood is even shorter. Enjoy it while it lasts, and dont waste a single moment of it. And just because your friend hasn’t logged on for six years doesn’t mean they forgot about the you and the good times. I still remember Tempest225. He probably remembers me too. If you ever get nostalgic about the past. Don’t be sad that its over. smile because it happened.
