I have had dual PB2000 pro’s for the last few years and just purchased a PB3000, running all three doesn’t sound as clean as i am used too so planning to get another PB3000 and sell off the PB2000s

This is what I'm talking about, and I appreciate the further confirmation. You're dealing with only a 1" difference in every dimension, yet with your years of familiarity, you hear the difference in the coupling/constructive interference. It's just not optimal, despite being "pretty close" in size. Basically, you haven't really "heard" the PB-3000 yet in your set-up. You might be able to tell there's more kick, but it's weirdly held back by the imperfect constructive interference. That you notice the difference in a relatively "small" disparity says a lot. It smacked me across the head trying to mix the 2000 with 16 Ultra. The smaller disparity, the less dramatic, but nothing is as good as truly matched. I'm looking forward to hearing back when you get your matching PB-3000. If you can my affiliate link, right on, but no biggie. I look forward to your impressions, especially after break in, and the scene in the Accountant, that I mentioned in my SVS App Hack video. Something tells me you *might* pick up on the extra wattage and split wind voice coil. 😁

Have you done all of the bass hacks? The SVS App Hack is EPIC with the PB-3000's. Those are really my favorite subwoofers, for a LOT of reasons. The PB-16 Ultras are truly the top of the line, and better than the PB-3000s, no question. But for what you get with the PB-3000, for the size and cost, it's crazy good. My biggest thing? The weight. I move subs around more often than most, and I have medical issues, so half the weight makes a significant difference for me. If I ever get a dedicated home theater room, where once it's in place, I won't ever be moving it, because I still have room to test other subs, then it's time for the PB-16 Ultras again. Until then, while I still have to completely remove subs to test others, the PB-3000's would be ideal. They are just sooo good. Glad you don't have my amazing impression of "in and out" bass! 😂

@@Subwoofer101 Yeah I have done the bass hacks, slightly modified for my situation in my room. I'm not in a big room, 14X9 with vaulted ceiling. The PB 3000's are more than over kill for my space. I started with PB 1000 pro's, but I just felt like I wanted more, when I called up SvS and told them what size room I had, they even said that the PB 1000 pros where perfect for my room, and anything more would be overkill, but again they understood that some people (like me) would want more. So I traded up both PB 1000's for one PB 3000 and then a month later I got my second PB 3000. I mainly listen to music but here and there I watch a movie. Just about everything I do I run it through my computer. In it I have a Sound Blaster AE 7 sound card, and I use Amazon Prime HD music, getting bit rates of up to 24 bit 44,1kz to 24 bit 384kz potentially. The rest if my system I have a Denon X3700H as a pre-amp. Then I have a Emotiva BasX 3 channel power amp for my center and surrounds , for my front mains I have a Crown Xil 1500 2 channel power amp. All my speakers except my PB 3000's subs are Cerwin-Vega Xls series. My whole system is very loud, but more importantly is clear with little to no distortion. But anyways, thank you for the reply and the great content you've made over the years, you aided me in my my choice to go with SvS subs and I couldn't be happier!

I have dual Jamo J10 subs up front with four tower speakers and center speaker set to small and the receivers crossover set to at 90hz, this sounds pretty good, however I have another single Wharfedale Powercube 12+ near field blended in with its internal crossover (cascading) set low at 35hz. This seems to work the best in my room, using the bass hacks recommended by yours truly. Thanks for all your bass hacks, tips and tricks, keep up the good work.

Just a thought here if you could answer this question ? If a smaller driver can move quicker ( just a guess here ) if you had 4 smaller subs stacked two each side in duel configuration would that not be better ?

I added a pair of SB-1000’s to the rear of my room while using a pair of PB-2000’s up front, and it breaks my heart that I’m not hearing as much of a difference as I expected.

No I still have an all Klipsch system. I’m sure they sound awesome though and at minimum good enough for Atmos duty. If I ever ceiling mount my front and rear heights I’m seeking my Klipsch RP-500SA and getting the ultra elevations.

All subs are not created equal. Really depends on the sub you had and the sub you have now. Dual, single? Really depends on who made them, and how they set them up. Each sub will have a response signature, and my blind guess would be that the 10" was less peaky than the 12". It could easily go the other direction. Lots of factors.

I actually wasn't aware of the RP series. Long story short, the RP series is closer to deep bass subwoofers than their typical subwoofers. The response graph is closer to deep bass subwoofers, and that definitely lends to ease of integration, and it's not driver size, but the overall design. Looks like they made a subwoofer that I might be interested in looking at. I don't know what the in room response will be, or the overall sound in general, but it's not like your previous 12's. I knew what I'd get with the non RP series, exactly your experience, which is to say not what I'd be happy with. It would look like a hit piece rather than a legit review, and I'm not trying to make any enemies. But the RP series has some earmarks of a good subwoofer. The reason I'm not over the moon about them just yet is that I've been disappointed before. Dramatically, when it should have been a really close comparison. But clearly, based on what I see and your experience, the RP series is much closer to the type of bass that I prefer. That's definitely a step in the right direction. I appreciate you bringing it to my attention!

@@Subwoofer101 but that's just it you like deep bass i like precise bass but that doesn't mean they don't go deep i think it's a matter of room size and EQ

@@valde223The RP-1000SW is overall a much more beefier subwoofer than the 112s you have. Bigger box, more power, even the driver itself is much more beefier despite being a 10. Like Subwoofer 101 said, there's a lot of factors but the overall construction and power of the RP just embarrasses anything below that line.
