Because of Jordan Peterson, I decided this year to turn over a new leaf. I am becoming more social than ever, I am not good with words which consider my biggest weakness (communication), lack of vocabulary even when I read a lot still can't put words together, I barely finish a sentence so far, I have been avoiding debates my whole teens until college, , but tomorrow will be my first meeting to a group from Meetup will debate a great subject and at the same time go to a Christmas party. This man is really inspired, he helped me to get out of the cage and conquered who I truly am by facing my fear socializing with my ressemblance
@KananHajime17 күн бұрын
similar story here, it turns out communicating is not really that scary, i am not even sure why i always had the fear in the first place, I started with talking to strangers on a bus ride, and then joined organizations, turns out a lot of people I met also struggle with communication and making friends, people are usually very welcome if we take the first step to connect with them. hope you did well in the debate and had fun in the party, I am inspired to tell my story too after reading yours, best regards

You can try finding popular speeches and transcripts. Read the transcript. The read aloud. Then listen to the speech. Then listen to the speech and shadow the speaker(repeat immediately after him, kinda like mocking). And also write about stuff you usually talk about. Writing will provide the necessary perspective and feedback for you to find better wording and better expressions. You can also try to record yourself telling a story and then listen to it. You'll keep noticing things and coming up with improvements. If this sounds like a lot, you're looking at it wrong. It's quite entertaining, in fact. You can think of yourself as a writer, or as a speaker, or whatever gets you going. And btw, simply doing this will have a tremendous benefit to your overall confidence communicating. Confidence comes from competence. Competence comes from practice. So by practicing you automatically elevate your confidence. It's pretty much an automatic process.

Jordan Peterson has inspired me (and impressed the bloody hell out of me), especially now as I am re-inventing my life. I will listen to this once. But to spend 3 hours a day for another 89 days listening to this repeatedly will use up 267 hours or 11 days of progress in re-inventing my life!! : )

Came back bc of 4 likes, they motivated me. Day 11: I still believe it's possible to make a real change. I'm digging here and there to find a way to leave my country and start fresh, away from fire and blood. Exercised for four days in a row, finished working on 3 articles, and worked hard yesterday. "Reality creators are grateful for the present moment, and they are excited about what the future can bring".

UBI is not the problem, the problem is that WE are being replaced by robots/tech/AI etc. there's a hole in the meaning of life that needs to filled with something of value. If the work that is available is unfulfilling there's more of a likelihood that self-removal is the only option....UBI gives people a means to live\survive\to simply be...w/o it you would feel less important as your contribution to society is meaningless (ie:if your career was a writer and you were replaced by AI and instead of given a UBI you were given a job as a floor sweeper) how good would you feel about yourself, how much are you contributing to society, how much is your self-worth then? UBI is going to be required as jobs are not available to the masses as population and tech growth out paces job growth.

I deeply respected and admired Jordan Peterson for years, but his “give them hell” comment, followed by the tragic loss of nearly 100,000 innocent lives in Gaza, was profoundly disappointing. His silence in the face of such devastation reflects a troubling double standard. At the very least, he should acknowledge the impact of his words and apologize.
