After Nero died, Sporus was married to the commander of the imperial guard, who was killed by his own men when he tried to become emperor. Sporus then became involved with Nero’s wife’s ex-husband, Otho, who was emperor for three months before being killed. His usurper, Vitellius, planned to have Sporus raped to death as public entertainment. Thankfully, Sporus was able to kill himself before this could happen. Vitellius was killed some 8 months later by the general Vespasian. Vespasian, amazingly, lasted for ten entire years as emperor!

Tom sees himself in Greg. I would not go so far as to say that Greg would never betray him. I mean, the relationship started with Tom using Greg for a risky task and Greg then betraying him and keeping things for leverage. But it is fair to say that Greg did NOT betray him here. Tom didn't confide in Greg, and Greg only learned and shared that it would not be Shiv. He did not know that he was blowing up Tom's spot (if he had he may have decided sticking with Tom was better). In fact, that whole dynamic is a big part of why the whole thing did not work. Shiv did not know it was Tom so told Tom, which ended up giving Mattsen time to rally votes, and led to Tom telling her it was him, which may or may not have factored into her decision not to give it to Kendall.
