I've been analyzing both NJ & Illit and while they both exist in a 2000s space they musically are different based on synth and production choices. NJ favor more atmospheric sounds like clapping or synths that are based on 'real world' sounds - think the musical 'stomp' - while Illit favors a more completely computer generated artificial sound more akin to chip-tune music. Likewise, both groups follow those concept in imagery too. NJ girls are more the girls living in the 2000s while Illit are more like a geocities website come to life. Plenty of room for both.

Copy pasta means a block of text copied and pasted to the Internet and social media. so you copy and paste. even the reactors talk the similarities of music and differences. it just happen that both group is on one Umbrella.

thing is they're under newjeans' label... it's like they're getting a newjeans 2.0 so that Min Heejin's group, the only hybe group that wasn't created with Bang Sihyuk's participation, can be put to the side. it's no wonder hybe invested so much in spotify playlisting and autoplay, after all their investment for illit's debut was 150 billion won, while newjeans only got 16 billion.

Also, they began to be brand ambassador in their first year of debut. You know that kind of projects cannot be obtained by a small company, that was all Hybe. We need to take in consideration de fact that NJ was promoted as "BTS little sisters" but now all of the sudden they are not Hybe, they are Ador. If Hybe gives MHJ the 80% shares they have of Ador, NJ will not have the same producers nor the budget for future albums. MHJ says that NJ is all her ideas, then I guess making another group wouldn't be an issue for her since she is so good at making concepts .....but that's not gonna happened, is more than obvious.

Loona, some WJSN and some early red-side Red Velvet like Russian Roulette. The only thing that gives me New Jeans is the hairstyles, formations because 5 members and an editorial feel (which makes sense as Illit's creative director was a fashion editorial director for kpop artists).

It makes sense when you realize that New Jeans is more editorial and Illit's creative director was a fashion director for editorial shoots with kpop artists before being hired by Belift and working on some Enhypen concepts. She has an editorial style that existed pre New Jeans. With her portfolio, I think it'd be very weird for her to outright copy New Jeans with intent. I think she just dud her thing and it happens to look similar - probably not helped by being the same number of members.

It was nice to see an independent, unrelated review of this song, even with the slight comparison of the two groups. @@bt_vkagksl Knetz (and the general public of any country) are known for being wrong in a lot of situations. Where’s the misogyny? She’s paid the most of any HYBE executive, they created a label for her when Source wasn’t enough for her, and they gave into every contractual demand she made except the two designed (by her) to give her full control of a label she neither created nor funded. Bang PD even personally loaned her the money to buy the 18% stock holding that she has. If knetz think all of that is misogyny, then I don’t know what to tell them. Most people define misogyny as the exact opposite of all that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

MHJ's claims that Illit is copying New Jeans are bullshit. Illit's sound is a completely different style to New Jeans and the only thing they have in common is a Y2K inspiration and it's not surprising at all that a new group would debut with a concept that's popular even within the same company, which other companies do all the time with no issue. And people need to pick a story. Is MHJ just one poor woman with no choice but to fight against the evil HYBE to protect her band or is she this creative genius that HYBE can't do anything against because she's majority shareholder of Ador and New Jeans wouldn't function without her? I don't even LIKE HYBE but you can't pretend MHJ didn't make a mountain out of a molehill and then cry victim when things didn't go her way.
