14:16 If you want a good idea of big Africa is, that trip between Sudan and Egypt's capitols takes 53 hours to drive. Compare that to a trip from Houston, TX to Lansing, MI which takes 22 hours, which isn't even half that time.

Khao Tom sounds like it's in Thailand. 12:42: Trypanosomiasis is a disease transmitted by flies that is a major problem throughout much of sub-Saharan Africa. It is an unusual disease because it can infect a variety of species, including both humans & horses. There isn't a railway between Egypt & Sudan. There is a railway between Khartoum and the port of Wadi Halfa on Lake Nasser, which has an intermittent ferry service to the top of the Aswan Dam. Michael Palin used it in Pole to Pole. It is my ambition to go there some day too.

funny thing if you look at the world map of rail gauge by region you'll find that the egyptian railway is cockblocked from the rest of africa by its neighbors. by libya from the rest of north africa because they don't have a railway and by sudan from ethiopia because sudan uses a different rail gauge than the one egypt and ethiopia use. i know i don't have a life.

@ananttiwari13373 жыл бұрын
depends, but some people debate the amazon is longer, but there isn't a very clear answer on where it (or the nile) ends, for the Amazon river the question is "what exactly is a river and where does it end?" and for Nila it's that we can't accurately measure it because it seems to end in a densely populated with trees place, so no satellite view, and it's also pretty dangerous there.
