As a Sudanese at the beginning of the war, I did not think that I was biased towards any party in the conflict, but with the passage of time, I saw what the Rapid Support Forces did in terms of mass killing, looting, and systematic rape in any land they entered. I sided with the army with everything I had (despite our disagreement with it on many points). In the end, it is the national army and not just mercenaries who know nothing but killing. You should know that Dr. Hamoudek has become a hated figure among the Sudanese people because of the equality between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (although he does not disclose this directly).

This interview is quite shameful, I feel so sad and ashamed to have seen this level of ignorance and irresponsibility coming from a man who not long ago was appointed a prime minister. It doesn’t even sound like an interview with a nation’s former PM , it sounds like an elder person conversing with a child. He’s not equipped with any facts, stats or even agenda that he stands for. He seem very hesitant to call out truth about both Burhan and Himidti being war criminals, and the obvious involvement of UAE in igniting and fueling this ongoing war. I am deeply ashamed our nation came to such level of weakness and failure that God reward us accordingly with a man from within us that reflects such. So sad and heartbreaking talk.

@The_Mones2 ай бұрын
It's a bit complicated but I'll try to explain it to you as much as possible. When the violence began, the Wagner Group was supplying the rebel Rapid Support Forces with weapons in exchange for gold on the southwestern Sudanese border via its aircraft. Until the death of the group's leader, the supply to the rebel Rapid Support Forces decreased. On the other hand, the leaders of the Sudanese Armed Forces, by virtue of their relations with the Egyptian leadership, were receiving support from the Egyptian army by supplying them with pilots and fighter jets. Through Egypt, they were delivered to some Ukrainian leaders to train Sudanese fighters and pilots on modern urban warfare methods and drones. Currently, there is a presence of Ukrainian forces supervising the training and teaching of the forces, as I mentioned.

As a former Prime Minister, I believe that interviews should foster a constructive dialogue rather than resemble an interrogation. While it's essential for reporters to ask tough questions and hold public figures accountable, the manner in which those questions are posed matters significantly. Respectful communication is crucial as it allows for a more meaningful exchange of ideas and insights. I welcome scrutiny but it should be conducted in a way that reflects the dignity of the office and the importance of the issues at hand. You can do better reporting!

We have forgotten that there was a time different from today before WW2 and the formation of international order. Tim and the collective west seem to have amnesia about the horrors of colonial powers, slavery and plundering of human lives, countries and people for generations for the sake sugar, cocoa and tobacco. The scars of Colonialism and Imperialism hasn't gone away. They have damaged the psyche of these countries. If they see bullets being fired today - it's only because the healing hasn't happened. In the short term people are chasing power and wealth but the collective healing of a country can only happen after multiple decades of letting them be independent and helping them take baby steps towards democracy. In the storm term players will engage in fighting and power struggles. Left to their own devices, they will thrive again and with resilience they will be better for it. Again the trouble would be to judge a nation along western lines and our bias thinking. Let people be.
