Sudden Heavy Steering Issue E90 M3 Power Steering Pump Replacement DIY Fluid Change E92 E93

Installing new power steering pump to fix E92 M3 heavy steering issue. Start easy with changing the E90 power steering fluid, flush and bleed air from system before removing the power steering pump, pulleys, and belts. This pump can commonly cause problems with high mileage so we are happy to change it out for longevity of our steering rack. Thanks for watching!

Hope you’re considering a return to the e9x field lol .. was following along with your video and I also discovered I have a coolant leak in the same hose you did… would you be able to point me in the direction to get that o ring please ? And would you have any do’s and don’t’s for swapping out that o ring ? Thanks man again .. definitely miss your e9x content 🫤

@@laykawest8674 hi! Yes looking for a third car and the e9x is definitely on the list. As far as the O-ring are you talking about the crush washer? Can’t remember which hose has an o ring in the power steering system.

@@Sals_Garage your big coolant line had a leak from the o ring .. and you had dug out the o ring with a screw driver and replaced it .. I’m not sure what to search for to get that specific o ring .. and for the o ring I can just push it into place and it’s good ?

Hey Sal, I just picked up a 2011 M3 and it has similar issues like hard steering at low speeds but once a little bit of gas is given it is fine. Should I start with just fluid or go straight to replacing the pump?

Start with fluid, then pump, then steering rack. My issue was only heavy steering during quick turns at any speed.

Thanks, no codes. Also no weird noises. Just heavy steering when turning the wheel quickly.

Hey Sal, my car shakes a lot when cold and smoothes out once the engine is hot. However, the vibration is still there with a little bit of rough idle. No check engine light or any codes. Any idea what this could be ?
