This is an absolute delight!!!!!!! Best series ever shown anywhere! I loved it 100yrs ago and I Love it even more now! I kind of resent Russell Baker making that snide remark: not to expect "high literary entertainment." Just b/c this is written in the 20th century does not mean it can't rival any of the classics. This has everything: drama, comedy, romance, class warfare, jealousy, envy.....what more can one want? Such amazing acting and incredibly clever writing. The nuances of real life are stunning in their accuracy and execution. These British actors and writers are such pros; once again, putting Hollywood to shame. And the music, so beautifully interwoven, plays an integral part in the magic of it all. Absolutely adore every bit of Part 1, 2, 3, and The Sequel. Thank you so much for this and thank you, Paul Abbott for writing it (without the craziness of Shameless! lol) 😻

@@FREDDIEROCKSS Thank you so much! No, it was clearly not an apology. Although I do love (Did love.....RIP) Russell Baker. I just resent ppl putting down modern writers, as not being "classic." I'm watching this because I saw Robson Green in another show and I really liked him and this was recommended. But I don't really see the attraction between the two of them and apparently she does not love him. Having said that, I have realized that most women do not act on their own feelings but they wait til some guy throws himself at them either in marriage or otherwise and then they simply accept it. I certainly don't see her as an attractive woman other than she looks okay. I say that of course cuz in America more is demanded of looks than in England and even Europe with the exception of Italy and France. I will try to finish this show and try part 2 and see if it becomes more convincing.
