The painful thing is that the second match 1v1 against the Hawks was 100% winnable for you. Not many people have figured this out yet but Strike Shiggy can cancel Hawks' annoying beta with his gamma grab without trading the damage, even if you dash into him head-on. I found this out by accident but since then it's been surprisingly easier to deal with Hawks players by relying on the gamma more than tryna use alpha or beta against them. Especially since people just love to abuse the heck out of that beta. (Not sure if you did actually know this, but at the very least this works as advice for other people here in the comments. Do not fear the bird beta, that's your best opportunity to attack 👍)

@@DemonOfCoffee idk how it is on PC but that grab glitches through hawks beta sometimes,I found out shigi grab could counter hawks too but it hasn’t been consistent at least for me😂😂😂definitely something that could help when fighting the birds tho

It's weird because since season 1, my main has always been Strike Shigi. Even with all the frustrations, I always come back to this guy. Heck, I even pitied Assault Shigi just to have mobility on the man but I'm now back to maining his Strike counterpart. The uphill battles can be REALLY annoying but he's just fun to use. It's also HIGHLE rewarding if you actually manage to win using Strike Shigi, especially in solos or any final circles w/ a bunch of rapids in them. I agree that they need to give him back his previous damage potential. I also agree with the idea that his alpha could have a pillar of decay like Strike Dabi. It already has those decay effects that looks like flames so why not just give it to him. It would also be awesome if his alpha isn't just 1 line of decay per use. Why not have 3 rows of decay per alpha at level 4 then 5 at level 9? Just so he can have a wider AOE potential. Imagine 5 rows of alpha reaching the top of a building thus covering it. FIX HIS ALPHA AND GAMMA! Have his alpha go down on EVERY terrain no matter the angle. And once his Gamma hits someone on the first hit, opponents shouldn't be able to glitch out of it. Finally, give his special action something more. Instant death for downed enemies or a "get off me" tool for any grab like Overhaul's special action. Or if you want it to be different from Overhaul's, just have Shigi's be a traded damage for any grab damage. "Oh, you like to grab, huh? Here. Let me take half your health."-type thing.

I've also been using him since Season 1 and I find while he can still clutch games even solo, it definitely feels like a lot of luck but I think he can still shine with a good team. I always end up coming back to him as well. The Alpha pillar thing would be so cool and the special action would be a neat change for him. I always thought giving him tick damage like Yellow shiggy could be a small buff for him

Sum ideas for buffs could be, Definitely 350 hp A decent jump during his gamma so he could snatch some rapids,add a “slam” animation for when he brings them down from the sky with a similar puddle to his assault version but let it stay out a lil longer Maybe add SLIGHT extra hit stun after his grab so you can connect that special action for extra damage Maybe a movement speed buff?he was portrayed as a rlly fast character when he fought re-destro I just want quality of life changes tbh,I don’t think he needs extra damage on any moves fr besides that “slam” effect I mentioned

I'm of the opinion that Strike Shiggy should be the one character in the game who does the MOST damage. It only makes sense. And while I still go back to him as he's been my main since Season 1 it's definitely a rough matchup for him. It's not impossible but definitely a challenge. I always thought maybe giving him tick damage like his Quirk Set would be good for him

If anyone wants to here me yap ideas, this is my personal Strike Shiggy rework mix pot of ideas (just a bunch of ideas, not suggesting all changes at once): - His Alpha (and maybe Beta to match it) will rupture the ground with the Decay effect, causing it to create vicious protrusions (the higher the level, the taller the protrusions-to allow him to snowball harder). These protrusions at higher levels could be a good method to create screen clutter for visual cover. They can either inflict the Alpha's normal damage (meaning more DOT range) or inflict an additional damage hit on impact (more burst damage). - His Gamma could allow the ability to jump while rushing, meaning you can grab enemies out of the air. - Maybe Gamma could gain increased attack size (ex. at lvl 4/9, he runs with two hands out, widening his Gamma's hitbox). [Future me: Seems he already DID get a Gamma attack size buff?] - His Gamma's trailing Decay puddles could last longer (like his Alpha, as an alternative to giving him more Alpha ammo) and deal damage (if they don't already). Considering his AOE potential already, perhaps don't directly buff his damage numbers since he's a very snowballing character already.

Nice ideas but his gamma(area glitch) is a move where he uses his hand to tear open the ground or something, but it's just one hand to run, one to choke. So you can't really use two hands it would just look goofy😭

As irritating as his kit feels against rapids I don’t think abilities should be reworked, damage is solid and I Like that he’s THE ground character and think he should stay that way. But hyper armor on Gamma, +50hp, and mayyyybe(?) slightly faster dmg tick would be a good way to put him back on Top of ground game where he belongs without changing his playstyle. Revert the damage of the alpha I would actually give a special action a little bit more vertical movement beta I would make it a lot bigger gamma maybe make it travel further distance still doesn’t solve the problem of him hitting people in the air though it would help when they fall he should be able to do massive damage or get the kill this is a bit extreme maybe make all his damage activate instantly so if you get hit by one tick you take the full damage obviously that makes him way better but he probably needs it

I don't play Kiri so I can't say how well he manages, but I do play Tech Dabi and he can at least hit people in the air, which is something he has over Strike Shiggy. And other than Rapid Bakugo and Hawks, he's good at dealing with most other Rapids. Especially Froppy and Iida who have to get close to attack. (Which Tech Dabi excels at punishing)
