This was in 2015 during 1989 Tour. She performed rock versions of I Knew You Were Trouble and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. She absolutely killed it, since then Swifties are begging her for rock album. There are some skeptics that think rock might not fit her because her songwriting would get little lost or she couldn't handle it vocally but i think that there wouldn't be any problem for her. Taylor is the best songwriter of this generation, she can change her songwriting to fit any vibe and even though Taylor is not the absolute best vocalist of all time, she's pretty good singer and if she wanted she could pull it off. I hope that TS11 is rock album, it's everything i need.

I love this song for it's attitude. Taylor has great tone and playfulness in her delivery of this song and it's fun and angsty and relatable. I think it makes so much sense to translate this song to rock because it already was all about the attitude. We're just dialing it up a notch.

1. Taylor has always been very creative with her music. We've seen versions of her songs in a behind the scenes when she's creating them. It's raw. Which is why I like listening to her demos. It's the spark of the early beginnings of a great rock song. Like for instance for "King of my Heart" she showed us a small clip of her playing it on guitar with some reverb I believe and I totally loved it. Personally, I would've loved it in that version as opposed to the studio version. Heck, I also wouldn't mind if she released it as an instrumental version. 2. After seeing her creative process and clips of her tours/concerts, Taylor can totally pull off a rock album. I want heavy metal, punk, emo, grunge, melodic, etc. All kinds of rock from her. Heck, even in her song "Closure" I wasn't the only one hearing a hint of Nine Inch Nails on that song. I'd like to hear something along the lines of Tool/A Perfect Circle, Pearl Jam, Godsmack, Belmont, Dayseeker, Bilmuri, The Used, Coheed and Cambria. 3. What I would like to know is if any Swifties out there listened to the Taylor and Tool mashup of this song but with Tool's song "Stinkfist"? I can understand what the person was thinking of when they mashed up these two artist's songs. 4. Suffi, I hope you get tickets to watch her live and get that experience. I think it will blow your mind. I've never seen her live and from the tours I've seen online, they look like a freaking awesome experience. I'm gonna wish you good luck in case you do think of going🤞.

She has a song off the Speak Now album called "Haunted" that I'd definitely classify as a rock song, if you can squeeze it in your schedule you should react to it! It's kind of a Paramore rock sound. Honestly Speak Now as an album is one of the tops for sure, there are a few songs that sound more rock then anything. I agree she's been toying with the sound for years, I can bet she'll come out with a pure rock album one day.

there's been a theory amongst swifties that she was going to release a rock album entitled "Karma" after her 1989 era. She had been doing rock performances like this one and I Knew You Were Trouble, probably to hint at the upcoming rock era. But then all the drama happened to Kimye and the world canceled her, so she disappeared and it became the 'lost album'.

Taylor is one of those people who, when she's being her authentic self, is a giant fucking cornball. There's something so funny about her playing the Rockstar role, but the extent to which she commits to the character is so commendable! When she takes on the timbre and really fries the vocals, it actually kicks ass. I think, if she decided to fully embody that style for an entire album (or maybe just a short concert series or something like that; 6 cities, 2 nights each, released later that year to streaming), it would be phenomenal. I don't think there's a lot of genres that she couldn't successfully transform her music into. Rock, Dance, Funk... I'd love to see her paired up with an orchestra for some big symphonic arrangements. Her strength is her songwriting, and because of the way her songs are written, she can shift them to other genres losslessly.

i THINK she chose specifically this one cause she made this original song annoying on purpose (to annoy her ex). So its not just that you don't like it, in a way she doesn't like it either. I got so excited when I saw you were reacting to this! It's hilarious because what you said is exactly what I said to my husband about this version when I first heard it. The original version is the one song of hers that I've always found painfully annoying (I felt so much better when I learned that it's *supposed to be* annoying). My music roots are in rock and metal. I grew up with the classics and fell in love with the harder stuff as an early teen. My first show was Norma Jean, if that tells you anything, lol. I've thought since her Red Album that her true, natural tone was ideal for rock music. Rock celebrates the texture and character to her natural tone that pop music requires hiding (or required then, pop has definitely transformed since). Everyone praises her Reputation Era vocals, but they're so good because she lets that grit and texture shine so when she hits bigger notes, her vocal chords aren't too fatigued to reach them and maintain pitch. Her vocal struggles are 100% rooted in fatigued vocal chords. Imagine Lzzy Hale forcing a sweet pop vocal for several hours a day, every single day. Her range would shrink so fast. I've never loved Taylor's voice more than I do during the bridge in this performance and she would absolutely murder a rock album. If we never get what she had originally planned for 2016 I'll probably die of a broken heart lmao.
