Suffock Punch Drive Problem Easy Fix

Hi and welcome to Micks Mowers
In this Video i get the suffolk punch back on the table. the drive is locked up and you can not push it without the blades turning, i can sell it without getting it fixed, once done the mower is all up and ready to sell. thanks for watching

My dad had a Suffolk Punch in the early seventies, and it was an absolute useless turd of a mower. It broke his heart to replace it with a Mountfield with Techumseh engine it lasted for 23 years LOL. Anyway great job on the lawnmower, just wish you were around when my dad had his. Lock down affects us all, but watching good content like this eases the burden, and the tensions of living restricted with family constantly indoors is not easy. Yo tam we are great.. and have sold the punch however just picked another one up for free.. so will be more videos coming up soon.. they are a great engine but need a lot of love.. just like a landrover.. you always have to do something to them lol ta for the comment.. stay safe..

Mick, the drive tensioner moves forwards and the new belt slides off behind it.....any advice would be useful 😳xx

The old 1970's and early 1980's Qualcast Suffolk Punch cylinder mowers were brilliant mowers. The Bosch made Suffolk Punch mowers weren't as great as they were made of plastic and had annoying plastic gears that break easily.

Good job. I've got atco 24" cylinder. Sit on mower from the 70's I spend more time driving round my garden more than cutting the grass lol. Stay safe Mick and family.

Hi mick great video as always I took up doing buying and and selling lawnmowers about 4 months ago and really enjoy it. At the moment I am just doing the Briggs and Stratton classic mowers of which I think I will keep doing just to keep the money coming in but I really like the old school Suffolk punch mower so I hope to move into that side soon only thing is there is not a lot of videos on repairing them about . Also I saw the quick video of the fire engine come to see young Riley boy on his birthday brilliant. Ok mate thanks again and keep safe

I think it would have been better if the steel was heated with a blowtorch before bending it.

Hi Jed.. yeah you maybe right.. but after looking at it it is only mild steel.. I thought it was hard still at first.. but went back to shape quickly

theres are the mowers i first started with fixing back in the mid 90s i used to have a box full of spare parts for these mowers carbs pistons i gave the lot away to a mate that has 4 of them lol good video and seeing this brings back memories welldone mick

It's a Suffolk super punch 17" with an iron foundry or iron horse engine

Wow, that's the first reel type mower I have seen being fixed. At first I could not figure out how that drive worked on a rotary mower. Chain drive and all. Thing looked like it was built strong. Great fix. Once I saw what it was it all made sense to me. Very cool. Glad we got to hear from Riley Boy as well. Torch looked great. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.

Hi.. ok so welcome and you may be able to help me out on my journey with them.. I have just picked one up so more videos coming.. it took me about 30mins to edit it and 30mins to render it. Then 40 mins to upload it to here.. it all depends on the software you use and what computer.. hope your good
