I'm George's daughter -- and, while I wasn't there for this concert in Berlin (my mom was!), I attended most of their U.S. performances, from the time they launched in 1973 'til they broke up in '75. I can tell you for sure, they were still having a good time together on this stage; this is quintessential Braff-Barnes interplay. And any guitarist who wants to achieve excellence needs to carefully watch my father's work here. Just nothing else like it.

I was one of George's students in Walnut Creek and studied with him up until his untimely demise in 1977. George taught me how to play jazz guitar with grace, panache, feel and most importantly - a sense of humor. So much wisdom and brilliance. I still have cassette tapes of our lessons. No one comes close to George in my opinion.

I can't think of another jazz guitarist who has such a subtle yet complex detail in creating a melody. Never heard a style like that. This guy is a master.

I have listened to many guitarists ( especially jazzers) and have never seen a style of playing I would want to emulate until now. I just discovered Mr. Barnes and am just blown away, absolutely blown away. Btw was recommended by a jazz guitar teacher on KZbin- jazz guitar with andy
