This was a great review. Who do you think gave the alien secret away?
@thescreensleuths2 ай бұрын
Maybe nobody gave it away & the military discovered them...or someone was killed and a body was recovered. But IF it was someone than probably Henry if he reached out to Ryan and people found out. I think it may be that we just discovered them.

Brilliant review especially the pen observation, here is my take the show has morphed into a modern Scifi version of "The Fugitive " Sugar will be searching for Henry while the powers that be are hunting him down, very much like Richard Kimball looking for the one armed man while Lt Gerrard pursued him,actually a very clever way to reboot a plot concept

Thanks! That is a great call out, honestly they have used inspiration from so many great movies I'm excited to see what they may merge next. I had a fun thought that I didn't put in, but it would be cool if Henry has been some of the serial killers of the past that we have not identified. Jack the Ripper, The Zodiac, etc. Depending on how long they have been here and how long they live obviously. But the idea that they could alter appearances, speak the language and blend in is pretty cool. I doubt it, but still a fun idea 💡

@@thescreensleuths especially because we have no idea how long they have been here don't forget Sugar had made the comment about being in Damascus when it was still great ,so the back story could be interesting

By the way,I wasn't referring to the movie ,I was referring to the tv series wooth David Jansen,also if I am onto something I wonder if they will have Sugar searching all over the country for Henry and not just LA

Exactly and Henry telling his class about how our ancestors came to be as if it was first hand knowledge 😁

Henry isn't just observing humans, he is observing John's transformation by leading him to be more human. They were here to figure out how to avoid the mistakes that humans are making. The ultimate experience is one of them becoming human and what that means to them. For instance Henry's interest in John killing the three people and how it felt, etc. So having some involvement in Djen's disappearance has given Henry the opportunity to learn more. To take it a step further, Ruby didn't know, but that doesn't mean Miller didn't know and his death could have been tied to wrapping up Djen's part in this. Ruby mentions a Pact and we know that someone very powerful was able to find Miller driving and kill him, so this was likely an arrangement with the Senator and Henry, specifically keeping Olivia alive for John to find so that Henry could bate him along.

Interesting take, thanks for the comment!

That's a very good point and thinking back on it, that seems exactly like the point they were trying to make with Henry placing such interest and emphasis on John having killed the 3rd person. And John replies because I wanted to in a way that made it seem like John was making a realization also. Henry is definitely "the academic" and pulling the strings in a John experiment. This makes me think that Djen is still alive and the experiment will continue in Season 2.

Why was Olivia still alive and well? Did young Pavic (the Senator’s son) and Henry spend weeks with each of their other human toys? Pavic Jr. came across as pretty quick to commit violence.

It seemed that Stallings was involved in kidnapping her initially after Davy vented to him about her. So most likely Stallings held onto her, in which case she was a product to be sold so he wasn't going to hurt her and Ryan Pavich for sure had other women because we say two of them with Henry watching. So most likely he just didn't get to Olivia yet.

@@thescreensleuths Do you think the girl with the red hair that Ryan killed with a hammer was Djen or was that just a misdirect?
@thescreensleuths2 ай бұрын
I don't think Ryan killed Djen, she may not even be dead. But it depends on how long she was missing and how long they have been on Earth because it seems like in the show they have been around for a very very long time. Did she go missing on their planet or was she part of the mission & went missing on Earth. If we get a S2 they will for sure explore what happened, but she may have been killed by someone like Ryan from an earlier time, maybe Henry has been watching serial killers for decades or centuries...
@mitchgunzler37372 ай бұрын
@@thescreensleuths I think Djen went missing back home. If she’s actually alive that would have been a deep twist for late in the next season.
@thescreensleuths2 ай бұрын
@mitchgunzler3737 the only reason I think she was still alive is because I don't think Henry was at a point where he would kill, just not stop someone else. So unless someone else was doing that on her home planet I think she is alive. Or was brought to Earth and killed by humans.

Honestly I wish this show could’ve been grounded in reality like Amazon’s Bosch. I like Sci-fi but this show had all the ingredients for a great story and the aliens stuff was unnecessary.
@thescreensleuths5 ай бұрын
That's a fair opinion. Obviously I was okay with it, I thought it was an interesting twist without going ALL alien.
@yannickpolitowski60745 ай бұрын
I feel the same. I really liked the neo-noir theme. This all-in alien-twist to me felt like a little too much for what it really was with the one or two alien-scenes during the whole first season. Now, if season two happens, they have to ride that wave and keep the alien theme. Otherwise it could fast become some kind of caricature.
@thescreensleuths5 ай бұрын
@@yannickpolitowski6074 Yeah I think they may be able to play with it a little, it may make it a more unique serial killer chase if Henry has a little extra ability. That way John needs to be the one to find him because the human officers may be chasing shadows. I think IF they just keep it as the background story with subtle things it could be a niche twist, if he starts to fly and stuff then lol ehh
@NFawcАй бұрын
I sort of agree. I think the alien angle detracted rather than added. But maybe season 2 will make more of it in a positive way?
