Rest in peace, Marvin Hagler. Hope the rest of the 4 kings of the 80s stay with us a lot longer.

After i stopped fighting in 2000, if someone would have told me i would start boxing training at 49, i would have thought they were ducking crazy!!!! i stayed in shape pretty much all of my life. For years, continued to do my roadwork, but without thinking about needing to run a little faster due to a fight coming up or jogging an extra mile just because!!!! Two months ago, out of the blue, i decided that i wanted to get in what us fighter’s say, fighting condition!!!! My first sparring session with a kid 20 years younger than i with a good pro record, it was crap!!!!! After a week so my bruised rib could heal, i did my roadwork harder!!!! Our next sparring session, i did much better!!!! Like working with this kid!!!! He’s good sparring g for sure!!!!

Roadwork is important especially in combat sports that require indurance.I watch Muhammed Ali running videos before I go running It motivates me when I have my lazy days.😁👍

You have the potential to be a winner. What matters is what pushes you forward. And environment is a big part of it. Are you surrounding yourself in a manner that supports you? By people who you love? By people you don't want to disappoint?

Reading the comments, I’m sure this is to simple for you geniuses, I’m also confident that you ain’t got a clue what doing the road wrk is. Probably also flabby... yeap, Flabby.. Ray knows, he’s been there. You short people stay mad w/ a chip on your shoulder. While this brother encourages others to go the extra ml, you still a winner Sugar....! Some people bring the darkness, recognize them,shake the dust off your boots and leave, lead wisdom to the light....

I didn't realize how much Floyd talks similar to Sugar Ray. Maybe that's just how the brothas talked back then (picking up things from his dad and Uncle Roger)

This is all predicated on hoping opponent is spent too, as for vs ‘Marvin’ anyone who knows boxing also knows he waited until after the Mugabi war, and Hagler was already talking about retirement after being pissed around by this diva. Yes great fighter but very devious in many ways.

Ray your a hero of mine but Hearns should never have made it to the 14th round against you because in the 6th or 7th round you backed off on him. You had him hurt. I think you did not want to heart him. That's the only reason he made it to the 14th. All due respect to Hearns.

sneaky Leonard waited for Hagler to get older and he still really didn't beat him. The only legitimate fight he had with Duran he lost. He did beat Hearns the first time and Hearns got robbed the second time. So stop tooting your own horn Leanard. I won't honor you by calling you Sugar Ray. There was only one Sugar Ray and his last name was Robinson a/k/a Waler Smith.

Joe J you couldn’t be more WRONG. You give no credit where credit is DUE! SRL was a BEAST and if Hagler was all that...he’d of knocked him out. He had 12 rounds and months of training to do that...he DIDN’T. Hearns was HURT multiple times in the second Leonard fight...SRL was NEVER hurt and one of his knockdowns was actually a SHOVE behind the head! A draw was the correct call imo. Duran vs Leonard I was a WAR. Both fighters were AWESOME that night. Duran just was a little bit better. Five months later...SRL made him QUIT. C’mon man...give SRL his due!

lol the guy was a gold medalist and world champ in five weight classes if you split his career in two, you’d have two hall of famers
@magicsugarbump49723 жыл бұрын
He was in a boxing clique with some of the greats, and it bothered me how people would say leonard had it in the bag before a fight even happened. That's why the duran fight was so epic because it silenced a ton of people who wrote off the hands of stone. I think hagler was robbed too though
