Soft Muffins with Juicy Apple Bits and Crumble Topping

I just made 2 batches of these 2 different ways. One was per your recipe and instructions using raw apples. The second was with cooked apples that I cooked in a skillet with butter, white and dark brown sugars, salt, and cinnamon until they were tender. The normal recipe was good and had a better texture with the uncooked apples, whereas the cooked apples had a more homogenous texture but a slightly richer flavor. Both are great!

You get bigger chunks of Streusel if you use unmelted butter. My Oma used to make the best Streuselkuchen back in Germany. ( pronounced Shtroisel) lol I’m gonna try making yours tomorrow. Yum 🤤

Tried this recipe as well.. All I can say is...AWESOMELY GOOD and addictive!!!! The TOPPING IS PERFECT!! Happen to have Gala apples on hand .😉 I have a vicious sweet tooth. I admit, I did do a glaze on top of the streusel.( I'm a little extra 😁. Some with glaze some without. Not needed I had 2 try it) BY THE WAY, this does come out exactly like Sam says. Esperanza Valencia You can use whole milk mixed in with a tiny amount of white vinegar, let it set for a few minutes to curdle. I don’t remember the ratio of vinegar to milk, but you can either Google it or or utube “ making substitute buttermilk” or similar wording. Take care.

He knew every button to push and I should have handled it better.
