Italian Cream Cake is a southern-style cake is bursting with pecan, coconut, and almond flavors. It's frosted with a cream cheese frosting and beautifully decorated to make one impressive and ridiculously tasty dessert!

2 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour (333g)
2 cups granulated sugar (400g)
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon table salt
12 Tablespoons unsalted butter, softened and cut into 12 pieces (170g)
1 ½ cups buttermilk, room temperature preferred (354ml)
2 large eggs, room temperature preferred
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon almond extract
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Frosting (yes, it’s a lot, see note)
1 cup unsalted butter, softened (226g)
16 oz cream cheese, softened (453g)
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon almond extract
¼ teaspoon table salt
8 cups powdered sugar (1000g)
For decorating, optional
½ cup pecan halves, finely chopped (60g)
½ cup toasted coconut, finely chopped (40g)

Joseph Smith was proveably a con man; there are still court transcripts in a courthouse in New York Stare where he was sued for one of his con jobs he pulled on neighbors. Then there are the Egyptian scrolls that he bought & made up an interpretation for, which was easily proven as false only a few decades after his death. While there are lots of loving, great people in the Mormon religion, it has almost nothing to do with Christianity. It is more similar with another Christian heresy called Islam, & Joseph Smith has much in common with Mohammed, including lust & sexual perversions & the use of polygamy to abuse little girls.

One tip; if you wait until the cakes are cooled, the parchment paper will come off without taking crumbs. You can also run the blade of a sharp knife along the edge as you pull the paper off and that will help too. That cake looks really yummy.

This is a Southern American classic. Yes it is sickly sweet but with alterations this could be adjusted. It can also go more almond in the cake and more extract. Amaretto can also be used. More egg and less sugar can also be done. An Ermine frosting ( milky flour cooked then cooled whisked with marscapone ) can also be achieved. Many variations.

@@verapule1 Reduce to 5 or 6 cups of powered sugar. Just be aware your frosting will be soft. One and a half to two cups of powdered sugar per stick of butter is pretty standard for American buttercream.

I had this flavor cake at a local Italian restaurant it was delicious at $8 a slice I decided to make instead. Came across your video and with your clear instruction i decided to make. STOP, STOP.... For those that don't like shredded coconuts or nuts etc and asking for substitutions for those ingredients.....um just maybe THIS RECIPE isnt for you. These ingredients were put together for a reason and TESTED . Simply make her VANILLA CAKE OR pick something else. SHE HAS PLENTY to choose from. OMG Awesome recipes!! #SUGARSPUNRUN is the 1!! @@andreacheney3593 realistically the norm for this frosting is 8 ounces cream cheese to 4 cups of powdered sugar she basically doubled the recipe so it is the perfect amount of sugar

@@andreacheney3593 just try it, if it not sweet enough for you, you can add some more sugar. My measurment is 8 to 10% sugar, I'm not american, we are not so sweet hier. But 1 kg sugar only in frosting is terrifying.With my proportions it would be 50 - 70 g sugar - almost 20!!!! times less.

I just made this cake - only I made half-recipe to allot 24 mini cupcakes. They came out great! Yes, compared to my original Italian Cream Cake recipe (which uses 5 eggs and a little less buttermilk), this one is lighter b/c it doesn't have as many eggs. I do like it, and it's easier to mix. A little too sweet for me, so I'm cutting down on the sugar. Thank you!

@@kathytaylor1595 Kathy this recipe calls for 400g (2 cups); I would suggest 300-325g (25% less). Also the cream cheese frosting is very sweet, in general, and I put 700g powdered sugar instead of 1000g for the same recipe. Hope that helps. See if you like it, and tweak it from there.

This looks amazing. I think I'll make this for my husband for his birthday.Do you use full fat (Bulgarian) buttermilk? Also, I'm not going to lie: I'll boost the vanilla. My mom taught me the trick of adding a small amount of almond extract to cream cheese frosting. It elevates it and adds a really nice complementary flavor.

Paul said that The Lord will not give you temptations that you cannot resist, but that in your temptations, He will provide a way for you to resist, overcome and conquer them. He will provide a way. He wants to bless you and reward you abundantly in Spiritual and physical things. The Lord knows you and will not forget you. You are loved. You are utterly amazing. You have incredible potential. You are not forgotten or ever will be forsaken. You are special. You are unique. You are one of a kind. You have been reserved for this time and The Lord needs you on His side. It simply would not be the same without you. That's just how much the Lord need you on His side. Thank you for your time.
