I have the newer version of this excellent guitar, without the roasted maple neck. Mine is just a tinted vintage maple neck with the Indian rosewood fret-board. My guitar is in surf~green and the bridge humbucker is the same SSV as this guitar but, the single coils on the middle and neck are vintage '63 pick-ups, rather than these Michael Landau one's. Oh and.. This guy is the very best reviewer of guitars in the business in my opinion, because he has class in spades.

Dude, Classic Antiques come with stainless. Suhr = Stainless.

OK one sec hahaha I just bought this same guitar. THESE don't have stainless. The brand new ones do but they have medium fret wire. These are jumbo non stainless.

What is the main difference between this one and the classic pro? Is a question of better or worse? Or just a question of visual?

There are a few main differences, the Classic Antiques are relic'd instruments that show moderate wear, they also have upgraded pickups to the ML models by Suhr whereas the Classic Pros feature either V60s or V70s.

So basically the difference is: The Vintage look in the classic antique and the best quality of the ML pickups? If I put an ML in a classic pro, will I have the same sound quality, roughly speaking?

Classic Antique also has an even C neck profile, rolled edges, a 9-12" radius, and a lightly aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish, those would be the biggest differences.

I have heard that Suhrs are superb guitars, never played one yet. Never understood the relic/aged effect with all gibson/fender, to me just a chance to rip us off !!! I prefer my guitars as new, age with me, buy a genuine old guitar with real age, the suhr in this looks like the aged effect is under the gloss!
