Suicidal Tendencies will probably never get the prominence they had when Rocky George & Mike Clark (guitars) were in the band... People today forgot that bassist Robert Trujillo (Metallica) was once a member of Suicidal from 1990 to 1995.

Who forgets that? Rob don't fit Metal-lica! Best to go back to ST. & With Rocky, Mike & since they landed the Mighty Dave Lombardo (who James asked to join Metallica early years a few times even, lol) Anyways, that would be the superist version! Ah to dream... Yet never know? 🤞🤘💜

This song, along with Fade to Black saved my life back when life was kicking my ass on a daily basis due to drugs and drink. Kept me from doing something stupid. Been clean for over 16 years and still every once in a while when I listen to it and it will bring me to tears when I remember those feelings of darkness and despair. I'm actually tearing as I write as I am so grateful for life today and even more grateful for this song giving me a release when I thought nobody cared. Love and hate when that happens. @Brad & Lex Finally! Wanted to get this ST song played first. All about the order of introduction. Understanding what the band is truly about is key. the music in the earlier Punk stylings can cloud the messages for one who is not open to it. was too early to hear those i feel. These Metal Years as many refer to are easier to absorb & have many more mellow songs also with deep meanings. Could go on so much about info in how important of a band they were/are. Mike Muir, (Singer/founder) his words reach deep & have saved my life numerous times as well as millions of others as the comments & voting over the years have confirmed. More than any other i have ever saw. Not just 1 song, but over 40+ years of impactful, helpful words to make those in pain not feel so alone. I wish you would have watched the video for this song. There is an alternative version done years later called "Heavy Emotional Version" & the video for that is a must. & They are not a band who blocks. Mike is a sharing caring guy who gives a lot & dies a lot for all he can. & do know this personally. Hopefully yous can do that next! & then explore more & see the many sides as well. Some great ones are "I'll Hate You Better, Alone, One Too Many Times, Send Me Your Money, I Wasn't Meant To Feel This, Lovely, Trip At The Brain- are a good start! Any questions i can be the one to set anything straight as well. truly hope y'all are open to hearing more now? Cheerz❣️

Most people don't realize how kids back in the day went through these feelings all by themselves. Mike put into word what a lot if us kids at the time were feeling. We didn't have the help there is today. Most if us were what you might call popular loners. I knew a lot of people but never fit in anywhere. Suicide and depression was shuned back then ..... you were on your own. S.T. helped a lot of kids just making them feel not alone. One of my favorite bands for helping me cope with life. Most of their songs are this deep you just have to hear what they are saying.

I was 45 then and am ready to do it again! I'll be done when im dead! Metal Is Life! AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! 👊👿

This isn't Trujillo, it's Bob Heathcote who was the Bassist for ST after Louiche Mayagora (Join the Army) and before Trujillo joined in 89 but Trujillo joined after Controlled by Hatred was recorded (despite appearing in some videos).

Thanks for doing this , one of my all time favorite songs. It's basically about heartbreak taken to the extreme. And most of us know how it feels and can relate. I've been a fan of ST since their first (very punk) album. This album is my favorite, they really had a killer line up of musicians and songs on this one. Cheers!

Institutionalized is a GREAT Suicidal Tendencies song! It's from the 80s but, I can't remember which album. Actually, the song was briefly used in the first Iron Man movie. When Tony Stark is in his office/lab tinkering with a car engine the morning after he spent the night with the reporter, you can hear the song playing before Pepper Potts comes in and turns the music off. Is it obvious that I'm a MCU fan? Lol!

I started listened to Suicidal Tendencies when I was in late grade school. I was trying to deal with surviving cancer twice as a young child, as well as the two study groups that put me through more pain than anything in my adult life. Music was the only way to deal with the pain in my mind back then.

ST has grown and changed their musical sound so much through the years and every iteration of the band has kicked ass! Even though the music style might change (punk, crossover, metal, funk-metal) the message has not. Fight the power. Right the wrong. Believe in yourself. No one can tell you what to do. Injustice will never prevail. And Charles Manson eating Froot Loops on your front porch is crazy! I was born to be, ST!! and I'll ALWAYS be, ST!!
