I'm ah hi Mike? Then out comes one of his bum boy's and asked me if I had a different tee shirt i could wear .. Sure have i brought two at the gig last night WHY? ... mike said that the one you're wearing it's not a licensed tee shirt!!! This is in 2012 I've had that shirt since 1988 it's well it used to be white with a skull wearing a Bandana when I hang it on the washing line you can see the print on the front though the back it's that thin and old and yet because he didn't get 10 cents in royalty payments 24 years earlier he was a TOTAL FUCK WIT any way told his bumboy to tell Mike to stick his band and his video up his corporate whore asshole haven't listened to st since that day never whore the shirts i brought at that gig gave them away when he sings send me your money he means it nine years later I'm still more than pissed at his lies F&£k him

This song was written in response to them being banned from performing in LA. In the early 90's LA started cracking down on gangs so the logical response (sarcasm by the way) was to ban ST from playing venues because they looked like gang bangers and wore predominantly blue colors. So you can understand where the hostilities are coming from in the song.

Definitely one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums of that era. I can also say I’ve seen at least 1,000 bands play live, and Suicidal back then still remains the craziest show/fans I’ve ever seen. It’s easy to see why they were banned to play live places! I think I was at the Warfield (or Fillmore) in SF seeing them around 1990 and a guy jumped off a 50 ft balcony into the fixed seats below. He left in an ambulance, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a paraplegic. I know I screwed up my ankle in the pit at the same show. I never went to another show without hightops after that! This album mixed punk, thrash, funk, hardcore and some prog into a really cool blend. It was lightning in a bottle! I’ve seen them live maybe 10 times over the years and they still put on a good show today. Mike seems to still be doing his thing and nobody is bringing him down. 🤘

They were my first concert. I went to see them, but they opened for queesnryche. This was at the Summit in Houston. I was going to take a piss and ran into Mike Muir. He was awesome and so nice. I’ll never forget it.

@Brad & Lex Funny she noticed that. Pantera were huge Suicidal Tendencies fans. Phil emulated Mike. If you watched video footage it is so obvious. Yet Phil don't mind as he knows it is true. So now yous know where Pantera got a lot from... Now keep exploring more ST. Very vast styles through the years. Ballads mixed with aggression is their speciality. Most emotionally helpful band i ever heard (& i have heard a lot!) Think yous would love I'll Hate You Better, Alone, One Too Many Times, Lost Again, I Want More, Lovely, Send Me Your Money, oh & the Heavy Emotional Acoustic version of How Will I Laugh Tomorrow... video is a must (the end❣) & well ALL💜 Take care~

Man, sometimes when I watch one of y’all’s videos and you start talking about the meaning, I feel like I’m in the middle of one of those CJ and Mahalik paradox arguments from Scary Movie. That’s some next level stuff right there!!

Suicidal Tendencies. There's always bands that live in the spaces between established genres. They're the space between NY hardcore and thrash. Fucking amazing. Lex feels all of that!

Nailed it with the Cemetery Gates comparison at the intro. I never thought of that correlation.

Funny you said reminds me of cemetary gates. I remember seing Pantera open for them on the Light, Camera tour. This was before anyone basically knew who Pantera was at the Stone in San Francisco.

Flashback to the mid 80's and The Edge Skatepark in a dodgy warehouse in Freo, Western Australia...standing on the monster ramp with my Santa Cruz and this pumping over the loudspeakers...feeling immortal and forever free...then suddenly snapping out of it and back to the reality of 2021. :/ Tha fuck happened to the world...

There were a lot of people who weren't ready for music like this back in the 80s. I actually got kicked out of an ST concert at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland Or, just for moshing. This was the first concert like this that the Coliseum had ever had. Wehrmacht was the opening act but bouncers were forcing everyone to stay in their seats. Next came Exodus, we all rushed the stage and started moshing. Bouncers started chucking kids out the doors. They got me 2 songs into Exodus, never did get to see ST. The concert did go on but more than 100 of us got thrown out, there were choppers in the sky and cops on the doors and roofs by the end of the night... ah the good ol days.
