My outline for Suicide Squad would have been: - Act 1: after seeing Task Force X being killed in a mission gone horribly wrong, all the new characters get introduced -Act 2: we see them doing black ops missions - the whole reason for them existing in the first place! -Act 3: some final mission that they are actually responsible for in the first place - be it Joker or if they had to, connect it to Darkseid We never get to see the being the funny, crazy and messed up black ops team that actually makes them unique. (It seems that we will be getting something like that in The Suicide Squad, so with James Gunn in charge and the positive leaning trend of Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam I’m cautiously optimistic.)

Harley Quinn is just pushed waaaay too much into the forefront of everything DC. She’s over-saturating the market from someone who’s supposed to be essentially a sidekick to a supervillain. It’s too the point of redundancy and annoyance.

this movie was edited by a trailer company which is why its structurally a mess. the original trailers showed something way more darker and more in tone with david ayers other work. jared leto also said he shot enough for a full joker movie but most of the footage was left on the cutting room floor. I highly recommend reading the movie novelization since that was written in conjunction with the original cut of the film and presents how the story should have been if they went with Ayers vision.

Rebecca Harley Colins I wasn’t attacking his interpretation, I was just pointing out he’s picked only a couple films in the superhero genre. One film is looked at as the worst of a failed movie universe and the other is a low tier Marvel antihero that has tepid hype behind it even after the trailer. To each his own on how one feels about JL’s Joker, but most people feel he’s in a distant last place for movie Joker portrayals. Maybe people will like him in Morbius as it “suits” him better, but if the movie is just another bad superhero movie then oh well.

This movie was basically BVS flaws, only much worse. The fact they repeated the same mistakes as BVS in rushing their cinematic universe by introducing multiple characters that felt forceful, had little to no impact on the story, and they barely had enough screen time for us to know or actually care about. Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Rick Flag, and Deadshot were fine because the actors actually did a good job with little screen time they have, but the rest I forgot because they barely talked or existed. And the fact that this movie was teasing a crap ton of sequels and spin-offs instead of TELLING US A FUCKING STORY, WHICH SHOULD BE THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A SEQUEL!!! Enchantess was a forgettable villain, she never convinced me as a threat whatsoever, HELL Doomsday was better than her and he didn’t even have LINES!

Suicide Squad was fine. The didn't need to have solo movies for every single villain character to build to a Suicide Squad movie. That's just ridiculous. It's a "men on a mission" movie, and an ensemble piece, which means that yes, some characters will get more screen time / development as others. But introducing these characters in an ensemble film isn't rushing anything, because there was never going to be a solo Killer Croc film or El Diablo film. Literally, most of your issues could be laid at the fact that Ayer had the edit taken from him and given to a trailer editing company. By all accounts his original cut was less GotG inspired (a lot less needle drops), and each member of the Squad had more of their backstories revealed. Joker and Harley obviously getting one of the biggest hatchets in the edit. So no, there's nothing rushed making a super villain Dirty Dozen movie, it's like saying GotG was rushed because we didn't get indivdual films about Quill, Groot, Rocket, Drax and Gamora. The main problem with the movie was WB handing off the edit to trailer editing company. Also, I was fine BvS introducing Batman and not following the Marvel model. It's Batman, we've had a bunch of solo movies, his basic character is well established in the public's mind. It's was fine that he was already a seasoned element in the universe before Superman arrived.

Ok the first time I watched Suicide Squad , it was a mix feeling. I was 16 and with my brother, we both it was a blast as an action film, but we were disappointed at film’s rushing plot, some of the dialogue, and a really bad Joker. ( Jared Leto was fine, it was the direction and lack of screen that we had a problem with) We were shocked at the fans slamming on the film was bad movie, we didn’t think this was a good movie, but we didn’t think it was bad either. I decided to watch Suicide Squad again on DVD, and then I realized this was a bad movie, not terrible, Just bad. These are some cool moments that didn’t make this movie complete garbage. But unlike BVS, those cool moments were very short and did not make this movie as fun as it should have been.

Margo Robbies Harley Quinn is a complete Comic Con cosplay caricature, not an actual character. The Kaley Cuoco animated Harley has significantly more depth, humanity, and soul than an actual Oscar nominee in a huge live action film! Ive never understood the praise she got for this terrible film.

If I remember right, the awesome trailer set to music released in the spring or early April. I just remember I was in Spanish class with my best friend at the time and we were blown away by the trailer , to the point we were counting down the days to this movie. August rolls around and my dad wants to go to a football game out of state and I had already had plans with my friends to go see this so he went without me. Let me tell you the disappointment this movie filled me with is immeasurable. It's probably top three or four worst movies I've ever seen.
