Carlos A I watched it and didn't mind it, however I can see the validity of the critics from a pure film standpoint.I wouldn't give it any higher than a 6.5 despite enjoying it. I just hope Jai Courtney gets to play Boomerang more, I found that the role was a good fit for him and comic relief comes naturally with it.

Exactly. Is Greg going to say that Bane is worse than Doomsday or Lex? are you serious Greg??? Bane was a good villain. His plan was to cause chaos in Gotham and it worked. Lex's plan was to get Batman to fight Superman and they did that for all of 5 minutes and it ended because their mothers had the same name. Like really??? The plane scene alone in TDKR beats Batman V Superman. Watching that scene in IMAX was heaven.

Rises is a little messy and a worse film than TDK, but I've got to admit that I enjoy watching Rises the most out of Nolan's trilogy. I love Hardy's delivery as Bane. I love seeing Bruce lose and then bring himself back. I love the war of Gotham that we see. I've yet to enjoy as DCEU movie. And I'm getting the feeling that I'm not going to. This thing needs a reboot at this point.

So glad Greg isn't drink the DC kool-aid on this one. I wasn't a huge fan of Batman v Superman (6/10 - 7/10 for Ultimate Cut) but this was meh. The characters were great to me but the villain was horrendous. 4/10 overall.

I had an epiphany while at work. The Suicide Squad was sent in to deal with the threat of the Enchantress because Amanda Waller needed to save face. She had already demonstrated to important people that the Enchantress was part of her project and so needed some way to salvage the situation and not let her hard work go to waste, as the movie made it seem like she had tried to get permission for building the Squad before and had been denied. Why those specific individuals? Well they did ultimately prove successful so their talent is not to be overlooked.

I never let reviews influence whether or not I see a movie. I'm a firm believer that I should judge a film for myself. I'm the opposite with games. I try do as much research as possible and really take in the reviews, I guess because it's a bigger investment of money and time. What I'm trying to say is, if you are even mildly interested, go check it out. I personally found it lacking, but that's just, like, my opinion.

Yeah.. at this point I think it might definitely have to be a judge for yourself kinda thing. Initial reviews I saw from people like Jeremy Jahns were praising it and those reviewers aren't usually afraid to say if something isn't good. But then really suddenly and rather surprisingly, I kept seeing headline after headline on entertainment pages I like on Facebook and other media outlets like "Suicide Squad is the worst movie of the summer... Suicide Squad worse than BvS.." etc etc. Googling it, it has like an average of 40% on Metacritic and and 27% somewhere else, Rotten Tomatoes I think. Pretty crazy

Because _Suicide Squad_ is, _unfortunately_, a very *divisive* movie; Stuckmann, Jeremy Jahns, AngryJoe and Kinda Funny all have wildly different opinions on the film you'd think they all watched different versions of the movie or something =/ Personally, I thought the film was very poorly-made though I _did_ enjoy most of it. I think the after credits scene was to show more of Bruce doing some detective work. Sure we knew that he was gonna go track down Barry and Arthur, but how does he find out about them?? It made perfect sense that he would get help from Amanda/ARGUS, and now that they've showed that link, they (hopefully) won't have to show it again. Hopefully in some montage, they'll show Bruce just flipping through the file before going to Barry's apt and that tavern (and Star Labs...), and it has the ARGUS logo on it.

The rule break I just couldn't stand was when Deadshot wishes to redeem himself in the eyes of his daughter all throughout the film, then when he's given an opportunity to spend time with her, geometry homework quickly devolves into a hypothetical of the preciseness of shooting angles & other variables almost as though he's proud of it & it COMPLETELY derails the relationship between these characters. (Probably would have worked a lot more effectively at the beginning, but not at the tail end of a character arc).

it was paced well throughout the whole film, some might feel that way because it had a ton of action it needed a cooldown phase. Enchantress was dope but I felt her brother was just the muscle like most films have. but either way this film doesn't deserve the hate just cause its a DC film. fuck these critics, until they make a better movie/universe, then they can talk all the shit they want.

BvS I was falling asleep and checking my phone more than I have ever done. Now what i think DC should have done is what Marvel did. Do a slow role out of all the characters in movies over time. So you don't have to pack all there back stories in one movie. You can just go in and say boom bad guy go kill it. Stop having 20 different story plots going at the same time.

I love Kinda Funny. I love Suicide Squad. Make up your own mind, people. This movie is nothing but badass on top of epic badassery. GO SEE IT. I love Transformers, but that doesn't make it any good. If looked at objectively, Transformers, as a film series, is terrible. Poor plot, bad characters, weak motivations, and a whole lot more. These universes that are trying to be built need a proper base. So far, DC has failed in that regard. I have enjoyed all three films from the DCEU, but they are bad movies, both as standalone films and as films part of a franchise.

Honestly, this is one of those movies you have to watch for yourself and have to watch without having heard anything anyone else says so you can make your own opinion. Personally, I loved the movie and haven't that fun an experience since Deadpool (hated BvS). As for the plot of the movie, the pacing was unbalanced and the plot may have been lackluster but frankly none of that was enough to offset the fact that I came for the CHARACTERS. The whole reason to watch the movie is to watch Deadshot and Harley Quinn and EL DIABLO. I didn't like the Joker at all, he seemed too thugish and acted way too much like a pimp-ish mob boss for my taste. I see the flaws but I forgive them because the movie still lived up to the hype for me but DC fanboys like Greg anticipated it so badly it could only cause disappointment when those flaws were present. Meanwhile, I didn't even know it was coming out until the day before it did and watched no trailers and not even the synopsis. This is my favorite DCU movie to date, 8/10

This was a great movie. I really don't understand critics anymore. This movie had everything. Jokes, Action, Comedy, Great personal character moments and development and so on. The only part I had a complain about was the final Boss (Evil Brother) fight which was kinda sloppy until obviously El Diablo did some 'cool moves'. The whole movie kept me entertained with laughter and awe. I loved this movie and now I can say with 100% accuracy that the critics have lsot touch with what the audience wants. They have no idea about how good this movie was or maybe they just wanna see that same ol' over humor from that one company. Gonna watch it another time cause it was that good.

It's nothing to do with critics needing to know what an audience wants. That isn't their job. Their job is to analyze the movie and it is often bad on a fundamental level. Your average person doesn't either recognize that or care. That however, is irrelevant to critical reviews.

No. That's absolutely false. Iron Man 3 was a great film. A tight plot where everything that happened made sense. The other two, while not as good, were still good films and had an understanding of how everything should work. Could you justify why you thought these were bad? All three of these films were objectively, at the very least, good movies. You may not have liked them, but that doesn't make them bad movies. I love the Transformers film series, but they are awful films. I enjoy them because they provide good entertainment, for me. But I'd be lying if I said that they were the pinnacle of filmmaking. In that same vein, every single Marvel film, including the ones you mention, are all good, properly crafted films, that some people may dislike. That doesn't change the fact that they are good movies. Suicide Squad, in its current form, is a bad movie. A lot of good covered with much more bad. A bad film can be enjoyed, but it doesn't make that bad film into a good film, and a good film can be disliked, but it doesn't make a good film into a bad film.

Ant-man was a full fledge comedy movie though, Paul Rudd was the main character. But it wasn't even overly ambushed by jokes, most of the humor was physical; the entire fight when they were tiny had no jokes but it was funny because of what was going on around them. The movie was a superhero heist story, with a shrinking protagonist who used to be a criminal but then becomes a student to a scientist. The only thing that was generic was the villain. Don't single out Tim, as if this movie isn't acclaimed.

On the topic of the flash costume, I seem to remember David Ayer saying the scene with The Flash and Captain Boomerang was shot by Zack Snyder during the Justice League shoot and they just dropped it into Suicide Squad, which as you pointed out, was a very confusing choice for the audience chronologically.
