Tim is seriously complaining that in wolverine's enemies have been basically a different version of wolverine? Did he forgot that most of the MCU movies, the heroes basically face a different version of themselves. Captain America v Red skull? Iron man v iron monger? Ant man v yellow jacket? Hulk v abomination? Come on now I'm a DC fan but you can't make that argument against this movie and completely overlook that it happens in nearly all marvel nay superhero movies.

chibinojose most superheroes have villains similar to th e hero. There are a lot of us comic fans with over half a century of comics read. I bet if we starting naming heroes, someone can name a villain with similar powers or backstory. Especially characters that have solo series. hero teams probably got enemy teams that are similar.
@macmazi36
@macmazi36 7 жыл бұрын
BlackPantherN7 completely understand that, I've been reading comics for a good part of my life. I also know Tim has read comics as well I'm just surprised he would use that argument against this movie when it happens in almost all super hero movies
@macmazi36
@macmazi36 7 жыл бұрын
the_Darkest_Knight I never said that. My point was that Tim calling out the wolverine movies for the "lazy villain" but not doing so for the other marvel movies is a bit of hypocrisy. Also is not entirely the movie's fault as stated above it is the same problem with comics but hey you probably didn't read that comment which is okay.

+chibinojose To me it seems a bad thing to complain about less because Marvel does it too, and more since in this case it was an essential part of the "symbolism" of the movie. The movie largely was about handling inner demons and the sins of the past and X-24, the young berserk Wolverine, was the perfect combination of both. I don't think they could have found a better enemy for this particular story (giving him a haircut similar to Sabertooth in X-Men Origins was also a nice touch).

Synyster Craig Easy to say looking back now. Comic Book movies weren't big back then. Singer didn't even get enough budget to make pg 13 in 1999.

I understand that point and I agree with the fact that it would of been hard, but on the flip side violent movies existed back then too so we can't say it couldn't of been done. It may of been a high risk yes, but sometimes you need to take that risk, Deadpool showed us that
@Alex_Logan22
@Alex_Logan22 7 жыл бұрын
Exactly, the risk should've been taken starting with X-Men Origins when they decided to adapt key elements of Origin and Weapon X, some of his most prominent stories that hinge on the R rating. Wolverine has never had violence for violence sake, they've been integral for telling his stories.
@AlexLove631

Wolverine isn't a PG-13 character. Like Deadpool, he can work in a PG-13 team movie (X-Men, X-Force, whatever). But he's an R character and his movies should've always been R. Logan is phenomenal and beautiful.

This movie is a masterpiece. Brutal, powerful, and fucking beautiful in every way. Jackman and Stewart gave the performance of their careers! The Wolverine movie we've all been waiting for. The amount of brutality.... The amount of emotion... I love everyone involved in this. This is what happens when you let people who understand the fucking property make the movie with creative freedom. This was the perfect goodbye to Logan. Hugh will always be Wolverine. Fuck the fanboys who can't get over the height thing. THIS IS WOLVERINE! Only real gripe (and it's not a big deal) is that I think the clone should've been a savage Daken instead of a full on Logan clone...

I loved it! Anyone who took issue with the deaths of Xavier and Logan needs to understand their deaths weren't supposed to be epic send-offs. They were supposed to be tragic. Most of us, even the best humanity has to offer, don't go out with a bang. We go out with a whimper. Both characters were tired and sick, barely clinging on. It was relatable and heart-wrenching, and forces you to acknowledge the mortality of yourself and the ones you love. When Laura said "Daddy" I couldn't help but think of the people I care about, and those who are gone. It is something almost all of us face, eventually from both perspectives, during our short time on this Earth.

I loved the inclusion of Caliban! He had a minor role in Apocalypse. His powers were explained in that movie too, so you wouldn't have been lost there if you remembered that. I fucking loved this movie though. I didn't see a single trailer for it and I was so happy I didn't. They pretty much show the whole damn movie in those two main trailers.

+Transfiguration They are similar in that both are Superhero movies that distance themselves from typical Superhero movies by strongly emulating other genres. However due to that, they aren't even really the same genre (as both emulate different genres than the other), I don't think they can really be compared all that well. That being said, personally I prefer Logan, since the strong point of the Dark Knight is the Joker, and I was never really fond of villain centered stories.

Logan is, to a point, as good as you make it out to be. If you wanna be cynical about it, you can nitpick and put the movie down for all the little things, as mentioned in the video. But from a broader perspective, I believe Logan accomplished something truly special: This film takes you on a human-driven journey packed with adult themes that will literally make you go from having full on goosebumps one moment, to laughing your ass off the next, to balling your eyes out by the end. This is truly an experience, and that's something that nearly all "superhero" films cannot live up to.

This movie is absolutely incredible. That said I don't think it should be used as a template to reform the X Men. The tone worked perfect for the Wolverine character. But seeing an entire cinematic universe with this tone would just be a mega downer. Variety is key, make movies that fit the character, don't try to fit your characters to the movie.

I always wished they treated Stryker as an alias. In the A-Team movie all the agents go by "Lynch", it could be cool if the guy in charge of the Weapon X program was always referred to as Stryker and they refer to themselves as a son of Stryker. That said, I thought the movie did a good job of not using the Weapon X program and the motivations of Rice were better than Strykers to me.

I think the reasons for The Dark Knight comparisons are because Logan tried to tell a story that didnt rely on the powers of the characters. TDK is a crime drama with Batman. Take away the claws and give Logan guns and you have a great neo-western film. I loved the film and my only complaint is that they could have cut some of the interactions in North Dakota out to arrive earlier at the final fight. I get some of the other criticisms but they didn't bother me.

Having JUST watched The Wolverine to get hyped for this, I thought it was cute what was considered UNRATED in that compared to the Hard-R cut of Logan. I thought the Sword in Logan's Room was a nice call-back to that movie, Calaban was a nice nod to Apocalypse and Charles line; "when I found you, you were a Cage Fighter" that was pretty awesome call-back to the very first movie. Logan was for the fans. It does have some issues. But still awesome. Finding someone to replace Hugh is gonna be extremely hard. I however do really want a real X-Men movie. With a real Cyclops. Even Wolverine has stated he is the leader. Well see what happens. I hope they go the Johnny Deep way with pirates and offer Logan 40 to 50 million for another Wolverine. I can't let go.

cyclops is only a "boyscout" in the movies. Personally i think Logan was the best superhero comic ever made.

Logan is a perfect Western film. Its plot points and location changes while being chased by the younger, stronger evil is parallel to a few westerns. Logan is a good guy who does bad things, like in Shane (the movie Charles and Laura are watching in the hotel). It is directly homaged to Shane in the scenes with the farming family, where Logan also stands up to the bully farmers next door. I started balling when Logan wasn't healing as quickly anymore after pushing the shotgun shells out of his chest (then again when he had to pull his third claw out by hand) because I knew Logan was going to die at the end of this masterpiece. Nothing is wrong with it, Tim and Nick... Logan is an 11/10 and the best superhero movie we have ever received. P.S. I agree with Nick that the Nolan films are not superhero movies. Therefore, The Dark Knight is not in the running for best superhero movie. It is a standalone, masterfully crafted, trilogy.
