I'm 35 now,still Playing this game and i recomend my Son (He is 10 now) to Play Suikoden II he is very Happy and My daughter watch her brother too.. I can only smile seeing my two children enjoying the game I played when I was little :-D

I remember playing this game on the first playthrough for like 60 hours and getting the sad fucking ending. I pretty quickly found out there was a better ending and wasted no time into a second playthrough. This is easily my favorite RPG of all time.

First playthrough I didn't get 101 Stars and wasnt able to save Jowy (didnt know you could but still tried to not attack him) and it was the first (and only) time I cried during a video game. Later, finding out how to save him and replaying the game was so rewarding. That final scene with Riou, Nanami and Jowy

I never played this game (except a little bit of the first part) and I sold my PS2, but I'm glad that Jowy is saveable, and he seems like a good man, just that he went down a dark path for a while. But he always wanted to be strong so he could protect everyone. I just wish that it was possible to save Ted in Suikoden I ;.;

I remember that time... because Jowy was too insistent, I ended up agreeing to his begging... and ended up letting him dead... did not know that I just have to persist till the end to save him... He and Flik was my favourite too...

Many of these kinds of games do have a strong Greek tragedy vibe to them. In this game two best friends are opposing one another. But I don't get why he lied about having "put her to rest"

Because he was trying to protect her. He faked killed her but she was alive.
