Just started Suits and got finished the 2nd season. I must say, as much as I like Harvey, Louis character is so multilayered, amazing, flawed, and always a surprise. Great rivalry and character development. Louis gets a special place in my heart.

I have lots of respect for Louis. Though out the seasons he hardly had any ally (except for Katrina), yet he was almost always working alone passionately. Harvey is surrounded by capable people like Mike, Donna, Jessica and is loved and supported no matter what. And no one can say for sure Harvey could do a better job in Louis' shoes.

I would say that in the end Louis is better than Harvey. His evolution over the whole series and in the end that he basically runs the firm, is amazing. What Harvey got in the end was basically more emotions but Louis got control, calm, maturity so he can lead the firm, etc.

If you consider the academics, Louis is better than Harvey as he has a superb memory and he is just as good as Mike when it comes to numbers...........But when it comes to facing an actual opponent, Harvey is far better than Louis he is even better than Mike as he has the ability to read people and know their weak spots......not to mention Harvey's best quality is that he doesn't let crappy emotions rule his actions.........He can kill his opponent without hesitation........A quality perfect for being the best lawyer in the city.

They made Luise the insecure to make Harvey seem even more of a man than he is. Besides the fact that Luise can be a real jerk, he has qualities Harvey has not here. Later though Harvey proves his loyalty towards Mike which is a change of character. On the other hand Luise become more and more overweight and emotional. Louis is the man for me. No substitute for pure hard work, grit and pit bull like tenacity. His weakness is he needs approval which makes him a “number 2”. Jessica never managed him how he should of been managed. Just needed a little more love. How suits ended regarding Louis was his final evolution into someone who could actually function without someone their to lavish praise on him. Ultimately the final versions of both Louis and Harvey has for me Louis as the better lawyer.
