Sukhoi Su-15 Flagon - A Short History

The Sukhoi Su-15 Flagon was a jet interceptor produced by the Soviet Union. It was the successor to the Sukhoi Su-9 and the Sukhoi Su-11, and was developed to face the threat of American Boeing B-52's and Lockheed U2's, as well as British V-bombers. It entered service in the Soviet Union in 1965, and was retired in the 1990's.

True! Here is an interesting story of a Su-15 that crashed while interacting with a Swedish fighter over the Baltic in 1985 (although it is unclear if it was a Draken or a Viggen): apnews.com/article/0eee55a8bd9579b3a14b9f00116fd25a

The crash investigation indicated this was a experienced air crew: it's a shame Korean Air crew never turned their navigation system on & wondered way off course:A deadly mistake.
