Su-25 Armament is an important part of the history of the Rook /Frogfoot. Even though not a big fan of weapons on airplanes, I will take my time to make this video. In addition, we’re gonna take a look at the mid-80s plans for development of the Frogfoot - The Super Rook Su-25T and Su-25TM AKA Su-39.
Those planes are produced in very few numbers and there is hardly any serious info and pictures, however they somehow made it to the battlefields of Chechnya, Georgia and Eritrea.
Su-25T and Su-39 are based on the Su-25UB twin seater trainer version and we might get to see them again. Russia lost plenty of its Su-25s in Ukraine and some in Syria. Being stopped from production, this plane can be restarted in the factory in Ulan-Ude, where twin seaters are made only.
Su-25SM3 will not be the next step. If there is continuation of the Rook story, it will be based on the UB version, so we still might get to see Super Rooks produced in the near future.
