Sir You are missing the bus by a milestone, The point is -- he can have his own views but the point is he has criticised MS who was the main reason for the construction of the music academy and he refused to sing in the music season , so why give me an award during the music season. In Carnatic music, there is mel athikam. He has sung about tyagaraja and periyar in the same stage and periyar has openly criticised brahmins asking them to be slippered. What we are telling is you give the sangita kalanidhi , we are not participating. please do not twist. Please ensure an impartial view

a correction , in carnatic music there is no mel athikam. Brahmins have taken to carnatic music just like nadars have taken up in running provision stores . Anybody with talent can learn a living example is ilayaraj, give sangita kalanidhi to ilayaraja- nobody will object. A few years back the music academy annual session was inaugurated by Ilayaraja , where is the question of mel athikam?

Sivam sir, You have twisted the whole issue. Brahmins are not the ruling class. Not even a single brahmin is there in the 234 assembly seats in tamilnadu. Even in the ancient times Brahmins were not the kings. Appo avanag eppadi aadhikkam selutha mudiyum? Soriyar called for genocide of Brahmins and promoted ina veri. So, some of them have told we do not want to participate. there is no brahmin in any of the jaathi kalavaram issue in India. One latest example is nanguneri. None of the nadaswara vidwans are brahmins. Can we put the blame for that on our nadaswara brothers and sisters? No. If a brahmin approaches them, they will teach. It's the question of approaching someone to learn. The reason why there's no overall participation in carnatic music is that there is no money in this field. Had it been IPL, Film, sports etc. then many people will join because there's money. After 20 years of hardwork, very few people are able to make some money. Most of them are struggling to make both the ends meet. So people are choosing other professions. Brahmins were never a ruling class. They are less than 3% of the population. Jaathi veri is prevalent in other communities in a violent way - sir, why dont you put a post on vanniyars, chettiyars devars who oppress backward community people? Do they marry people outside of their caste? No. I otherwise like your videos and I learn a lot from you. But in this case I am surprised that your view is jaundiced. As long as these norms are followed there won't be any problem. Glorifying a person who was a sworn enemy of God and the followers of Religion can be done separately. It will be out of place on a musical platform - that too after singing about the same God whom that man had insulted all his life - is completely unacceptable. We won't eat in the bathroom nor bathe in the dining room. Because there is a time and place allotted for everything. Sangeetham and Ingitham are inseparable. If a Singer remembers to wear a Kulla for Alla, he should also remember not to sing on Lord Rama wearing a lungi!!! Lungi is the Indian equivalent of the western Pyjamas... an Indian night dress. I too am a rebel but I never hurt the sentiments and beliefs of anyone intentionally. Reforming is not the same as rebelling just to hurt other's sentiments and values. No one has objected to the conferring of the coveted award to TMK. They just don't want to perform when he will be presiding over the event. Everyone has a freedom to believe and make their choices. If TMK believes that EVR was the greatest man ever born, he has the freedom to do so. Those who think the opposite can hold on to their beliefs and decide whether or not they want to perform.

@@sukisivam5522 1. It was Mr T M Krishna who started to show supremacy while villanising others in the community. As a musician he should talk responsibly and try to spread positivity. If he wants to bring reforms it should be done with inclusivity and it should be towards the progress of mankind who are left behind. Changing the costume at a stage for carnatic music is not a reform. Singing carnatic songs on Periyaar is definitely not a reform. Reforms should be taught to/start from children so that they can live in a society free from hatred. It's his right to receive the award and it's one's right to put forward their difference of opinion with him. 2. The situation during Bharathiyar era has changed a lot. If you still keep poking people of a community it 's not right. Social changes will happen and hatred between communities will slowly disappear.
