Once Sukuna realized that Mahoraga could perceive and react to his invisible slices, he started throwing out feints to trip Mahoraga up. Starting at 12:34 , he throws out a chopping motion but stops without following through, Mahoraga braces, and then Sukuna swings with his other hand. Through the rest of the hand-to-hand section that follows, if you slow it down, you can see Sukuna is repeatedly stopping his chopping motions mid-movement, then changing it up and hitting Mahoraga somewhere else when he dodges or blocks. Then Mahoraga starts shadow boxing the air in an attempt to counter any possible slices Sukuna sends at him, feints or real. I love the choreography of this fight so much. There is a lot of "show don't tell" going on as both fighters adapt and change up their tactics.

To answer some question: Mahoraga is not related to Hanami About the shadow boxing while Sukuna was moonwalking, Sukuna was faking his attacks and mahoraga was attacking in preperation for said slashes so he can use his de atached limbs as projectiles like it was used earlier. Fun fact , Sukuna did this on purpose to sorta corrupt our boy Maho, after that he himself did an faint attack having Sukuna pleased with a giant grin. The part about the domain is a little misstranslated, it actually has a barrier but said barrier is opened. And about the adaptation part, the moment that it starts the great wheel begins turning and each attack requiers different amount of spins. Like a loading bar if you will , and mahoraga becomes much more well suited to fight or withstand a phenom he was adapting against. And yea there is no limit to what he can adapt to. For example , the cursed energy thing. Mahoraga is primarly a anti cursed spirit weapon due to it being shikigami, so after the atack with positive energy output was useless mr Mahoraga adapted and later Sukuna was surprised by it using Cursed Energy. Also Also , the moment Mahoraga was able to see Sukuna slashes we as viewers also could see them as the black lines : D , And yea Sukuna wasn't breaking a sweat in this fight , more like having the ability to spread out your wings a little , have some fun without all the weaklings.

It was mentioned earlier in the show that even with Itadori in control, Sukuna can see through Itadori’s eyes everything that’s going on in real time. The same goes for Yuji. So Yuji was helplessly watching the entire time as Sukuna rampaged through Shibuya, unable to take back control to stop him until it was too late.

I just want to clarify something for you, this is not a spoiler so don't worry. 99.9% of people only remember the claim that Gojo would win even with Sukuna's 20 fingers, even though in the same episode (Season 1 episode 2) Sukuna also claimed that after he gained his strength or full control over Itadori's body, Sukuna claimed he could kill Gojo. You can check it yourself: Sukuna's claim will kill Gojo at minute 13:38 of season 1 episode 2. Meanwhile, Gojo's claim can beat Sukuna's 20 fingers at minute 14:22 in the same episode (Season 1 episode 2) My point is that somehow 99.9% of people only focus on Gojo's claims, but 99.9% of people forget that Sukuna also claims the same thing. Their chance of winning is 50 : 50 because they both claim they can beat each other.

The estimation of Jogo being 8-9 fingers isn't really that crazy, 1 finger difference is a lot, Remember the curse in the first season was 1 finger worth, and yet it didn't stand a chance against Sukuna even though he only had 2 fingers. One thing to consider is that the fingers as a measure only refer to amount of cursed energy, and the fingers may not even be consistent or linear with that. One finger Sukuna still beats a one finger curse because of skill and knowledge, so I personally think a Sukuna with less than 8/9 fingers could still beat Jogo with ease.

Then his petty evil ass comes back just before switching, to make sure Yuji can clearly see the sheer extent of destruction he caused. The whole dimenional slash thing you're confused about was the viewer seeing a reflection of a big screen on the side of a building. Sukuna sent a few Dismantles to dice up the building coming at him, one of which went through the screen.

Fun fact, they didn’t redo most of that, probably just misremembering a little bit. They only really redrew the flame effect when he draws the arrow, and the strings on Mahoragas release, and then the plane sequence is slightly changed as well as a new 2 minute segment. I think the biggest issue with the initial release was the insane amount of ghosting and dimming. By no means was it finished but the original version is still one of the best episodes of the year without a doubt. Edit: I think Sukuna’s domain is filled in too instead of being more like a red outline, but still not too much change to the flow of it

Megumi's sikigami is based on animal kingdom and the mahoraga (makora) is also based on real life insect brazilian treehopper , And also to note that Megumi has no healing techniques so he was gonna die due to blood lost so he finally subjugated the strongest sikigami, Megumi has also very powerful sikigami that we have never seen but less powerful than mahoraga Each sikigami power growth is exponential & total Megumi have 10 sikigami , he can also mix sikigami if sikigami dies , mahoraga is not dead because he subjugated it and subjugation can be done multiple times,but when he obtained that Pokemon mastered it and has control which no one is done in entire history, then mahoraga can be killed, If only 10th sikigami is this much powerful imagine 7,8,9 th sikigami And what if Megumi obtained all the Pokemon and lost it like demon dog , he can mix all ten sikigami And then I think he can become to the level of sukuna

Sukuna had only been using Dismantle to attack/cut Mahoraga so Cleave part of the Domain should’ve obliterated it, but it adapted to slices in general rather than just Dismantle. So anything related to slicing was rendered useless. That’s why he unleashed that Super Fire thing Idk what it’s called, a nuke lol? 17:00 Yeah, weirdly inserted scene. I still don’t understand why it was put here. Throws off everyone at first glance. 17:35 Sukuna didn’t kill him. He entered the area where Sukuna had just used his Domain, and a few aftereffects were still lingering. He managed to catch one of the stray slices which is actually extremely UNLUCKY. 19:16 I think it’d have been easier to follow if you had watched this in the start of your next recording session. Coming off from the previous episodes is already so much stimulus, no one is ready for this absolute disaster. 22:10 And imagine how many times Megumi was almost on the verge of releasing this monstrosity in the first season. Even Sukuna admitted before deploying the Domain that had Megumi released it when (S1E5) he was in his 3-finger state, he wouldn’t have been able to defeat it. 22:15 Wow, I’m rewatching the scenes by watching a guy who is immediately rewatching the episode he just watched. Oxford was right, brain rot is real lmao. 24:22 BluRay version is visually much better with the added scenes and the removal of dimming. For me, Sukuna’s Domain in the BluRay was the best change from the TV version. The added scenes of the destruction in monochrome and the slashes atomising the humans were terribly good. Hats off to the animators. One of the best fight episodes I’ve ever seen in animé. (I can only think of Dragon Ball having better fights, but it’s solely focused on that so it can be conveniently ignored.) 24:51 Yeah, Sukuna wasn’t hurt but his bread-and-butter technique was nullified. Slices didn’t work on Mahoraga anymore. Had he not pulled out those flames he’d have been the one to be cooked. The yuji scene was the cliffhanger of chapter 119. Then, chapter 120 continued with sukuna getting megumi to shoko and so on. It worked in the manga as the final page of a chapter, but it felt weird to randomly break the chronological continuity in the episode. Sukuna's domain was already over, sukuna used a no movement slash like he did against mimiko and nanako to kill haruta

24:34 Actually 🤓☝️the anime makes it look even more grandeous than what happened in the manga, it's pretty much the same, but Sukuna kills Mahoraga very easily, it was more of a fight that the one he had with Jogo last chapter, but Sukuna didn't really strugled killing it, because he's very methodical, he played with mahoraga, learning its moves, learning what seemed to make the most damage and what was useless, he could have just used his domain since the begining and call it a day, but he didn't, which helped him not making mahoraga adapt to such a powerfull move that early on, he studied his opponent, didn't underestimate it, and also had an entretaining battle after years of not having one, he's really a master in jujutsu, he loves the game

Fun fact, this episode only comprised around 30-40% of what they had planned to do composition wise, even in the blu-ray, and many of the animators are dissatisfied with the result and not getting to finish the vision they had.
