I'm a Japanese JJK reader. Let me illustrate why they changed the translation. Malevolent Shrine(Malevolent Kitchen)is 伏魔御廚子(FukumaMizushi) in Japanese. The "御廚子所(Mizushi-place)"means kitchen in very old Japanese. And Gege Akutami said that Sukuna's biggest pleasure is eating in JJK fan book. So maybe they changed the translation.

Mahoraga clearly stronger than Jogo because Sukuna need to use his Domain Expansion to defeat it Because Mahoraga ability is can adapt with any phenomenon, it can adapt with any attack, thats why Sukuna use his domain to defeat it as soon as possible so Mahoraga didn't have time to adapt with it Sukuna using his domain to prevent Mahoraga to regenerate, unlimited slash from Malevolent Shrine so Mahoraga use most of time to healing, Sukuna using the fire arrow as the final touch

Only top tier talent could pull that shit off in the time that they had. Just rmmbr what situation itadori was in when sukuna took over. He just defeated choso… or so he thought, before unceremoniously shanked to the point of death,, and while he was unconcious, he was fed the fingers. Between being knocked out n waking up to a barren landscape, n then suddenly fed with memories of what Sukuna did when itadori’s body was taken over…. Zetsubou. Despair. Also note that any human or lesser cursed spirit within Sukuna’s domain was practically shredded. So even before he envoked his giant fire arrow, everybody within the domain’s influence was already dead, with no bodies to speak of, coz it was torn to mince. Also rmmbr that before Mahoraga, sukuna fought jogo, n mahito already transmuted a hecka of alot of people… N this was halloween night. A holiday excuse for city folks to party out at night in shibuya. Alot of people died that night… alot. Tens of thousands easy. Heck, even a 747 was shot out of the sky.

The manga makes it very clear that the translation for Sukunas abilities are: Shrine, Dismantle & Cleave - Dissect & Fillet is utter nonsense - "Kitchen" could just be a play on sukuna chopping everything up, but it's still not the official translation, even if the word for Shrine can also mean Kitchen, the author never used that at any point.

a few things that is worth saying without spoiling, the reason why Mahoraga was able to tank Sukuna´s domain expansion is because his adaptation is not focused on the technique, but in the phenomena itself, so he didnt adapt to only Cleave, he was adapting to Slashing attacks in general, thats why even with Dismantle, Sukuna needed to use the fire arrow and about Sukuna´s Domain expansion and why its said to be divine, a domain expansion is made with imbuing your cursed technique in a space created with closed barriers, but Sukuna´s is diferent, instead if closing the barrier and creating a space inside it, his domain has open barriers, and he forces the Shrine into existence, so since the barreirs arent closed and in theory is possible to escape, in exchange for that possible escape, the domain has a 200 meter radius

If you can't kill Mahoraga in one-hit, it will simply adapt to it. If Sukuna had used his domain from the very start instead of using his slashes against Mahoraga, he would have beaten Mahoraga. But Sukuna simply slashed Mahoraga which gave it the opportunity to adapt to his slashes. That is why Sukuna's Domain can't kill it completely because it has already adapted to his slashes. So Sukuna must use his flaming arrow to finish it off in one hit. If that arrow didn't one hit Mahoraga, he would have just simply adapted to that fire arrow and Sukuna would have to find another way to one shot it. Mahoraga is just that OP.
