Anne of Green Gables is one of my all-time favorite novels, right up there with Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and a few others. As a little girl I spent much of my time with my nose buried deep in those books, fantasizing what it'd be like to have Anne Shirley as a friend. So when the Anne of Green Gables series and the movies starring Megan Follows aired on PBS here in the states, I made sure to watch them. In fact we taped the series as well as movies so I could watch them repeatedly. When the Disney channel aired Road to Avonlea, I watched that series religiously with my parents and sister as well. L.M. Montgomery's story has played a huge role in my life, as have Sullivan Entertainment's adaptations. I feel so privileged to have grown up reading such wonderful books and watching the various adaptations!

Lucy Maud Montgomery has always been and will always be my all-time-favourite author. ❤ (One of her novels - _Kilmeny of the orchard_ - has been translated into Hungarian recently and will be published next week. Yay, I can't wait for it! 😄)

I would love to know what made Lucy to name her Anne Shirley. Shirley is my family name and I'm curious.
