I am highly appreciating suman sir.actually he is wanting to teach us the basis of NMR spectroscopy. to persuade the basis,he took those example.if anyone do not know that C-H-C would not be formed, he has no meaning to understand the NMR spectroscopy. I earnestly request those critics to know basic chemistry and then to criticize. hats off suman sir.

Dear Suman..one thing i have noticed that what u r saying is, in the presence of external magnetic field applied by the machine the spin of protons oriented in alpha state that is most stable state and then we will apply some electromagnetic radiation to convert in beta state..I think that is not true..In the absence of magnetic field(under the earth magnetic field) the magnet are randomly oriented in any direction. But when you apply external magnetic field by NMR machine it will oriented in two direction alpha and beta state..and since accorting to Boltzmann distribution law the molecules in alpha state is little more then beta state. When we will applied radio frequency the alpha spin state flips ito beta spin state and the process is called as resonance.

@observablesasscience1208
@observablesasscience1208 5 жыл бұрын
It depends on the type of machine.If you are keeping magnetic field strength constant, shielded proton requires only less amount of energy (remember magnetic field is constant here).We are mostly using this type of machines.Other type is just vice versa....But we don't build machines that has both field and energy as dynamic variable.

But here we need to note that the shielded protons need less energy because their magnetic power gets covered with electrons and hence the energy applied to spin it to the opposite direction (repulsive forces between same poles) would be obviously less.

why less energy is required for shielded ?Did not understand the concept
@nandhinikp5296
@nandhinikp5296 8 жыл бұрын
The hydrogen atom is shielded due to more electrons from other atoms around it and hence the magnetic power is automatically reduced due to the shielding. If the magnetic power is less around the hydrogen, then less energy is enough to do the beta spin.
@onslaabidi5254
@onslaabidi5254 8 жыл бұрын
when the hydrogen is schielded ,the effect of the magnetic field will be reduced and for example instead of turning the hydrogen in 180 degres u'll just need to turn it in 60 degres to reach the resonance position and thus u'll need less energy
