"I can't be left if I'm alone. I can't be pulled down if I don't hold on." Omg. I love this song yet it breaks my heart. It's beautiful and painful all at once. Excellent song writing! I absolutely LOVE Danny's voice!!

This is definitely my favorite one off the album. Aside from Vultures and Under Denver. The lyrics are absolutely stunning. The anger and frustration at the end "Again and again I repeat and explain am I fucking insane? I am one!" just takes the whole cake for me. And just knowing that Danny puts his heart and soul on what he writes and sings, all the shit he's been through throught his whole career, makes it a billion times better. It really frustrates how lots of folk only focus on the instrumentals and if it sounds "heavy enough". As soon as they hear a softer voice or something that isn't what they're used to they'll bash it without a second thought. Music is something to experience, this is not "party" or "dancing" music. It's not your typical 2-3 minute songs with a bunch of sounds mixed up and generic lyrics. I love what Asking Alexandria became and I cannot wait for their future work. Cheers!

So true. So many people complain about musical growth and evolution. Sorry, but not all bands want to make the same record over and over again nor do all fans want to hear the same album over and over again. I personally have no problem with bands evolving and broadening their horizons.

losing the will to live not just that but his vocal cords ripped so they had no choice but to change to meet his new vocal range but in my opinion he's slowly getting better and better again
@alonehades1007 жыл бұрын
+Bethany Hodges that was after FDTD was even written, Danny's vocal chords are fine now, they are just looking for a new sound. In fact Danny has been better since a few years ago, check the Mitch lucker memorial, that was after ripping his vocal chord.
@bethanyhodges65817 жыл бұрын
alonehades100 it doesn't matter if his vocals are "fine" now his voice will never be the same after what happened...thats All I was getting at.An the new sound doesn't bother be neither does the fact that it's not as heavy as the old stuff. I just feel like most of the songs could've been written better, but that's just my opinion.
@losingthewilltolive42847 жыл бұрын
Bethany Hodges I've torn my vocal chords before and it sucked but they did heal and my voice doesn't sound the same either. His voice is different because he drinks and smokes, both of which are harsh on your throat. Plus when a male ages the vocal range also changes. So, yes his voice isn't the same but for multiple reasons.

I carefully analyzed the lyrics of this A.A. song and came to the conclusion that this is not just an ordinary song about parting, but this song has a deep philosophical content. Exactly -> An ancient Indian aphorism says - "The Individual Soul is the only one - without another "... - "Alone among many"... What does this mean? And that means that there is only One who is aware of Himself, expresses His will and feels, and all the others are just soulless and insensitive ghosts, dolls, programs of a supergiant supercomputer pretending to be living beings. Almost like in the movie "The Matrix". But only in the "Matrix" human programs were controlled by animate real people who were in the capsules of the Matrix, and in this case, human programs are controlled by a supercomputer, and there are no other people. There is One and only One. Without the second, third... And He also created this Supercomputer from His energies. And He voluntarily dropped into this Game... From the point of view of European philosophy - in this song we are dealing with a deep understanding of the philosophical concept called "solipsism". This is exactly what is sung in the wonderful song of the Metalcore band Asking Alexandria, both in philosophical and musical content. It would be interesting to know the position of Danny Worsnop himself regarding the deep content of the lyrics of this song.

People need to realize Danny left asking alexandria because he wanted to get We are harlot going and his solo album he came back to help but he changed his style of music. He doesn't like to scream as much now I Mean we all I'm sure have heard of (moving on) he doesn't scream in it and I think it's a good progression to change it up after making a comeback u know, this new album is really good and he does scream a little bit but I appreciate his true vocals more than screaming it's unique.... very well done Danny on coming back and making a new album with the rest of AA!!!

georgftf Because that's the genre we're into and why we fell in love with Asking Alexandria in the first place. The new album is okay, but I prefer their old stuff. And you can't just say listen to that, because I'm all about the live show, and I'll probably hear at least half of this. Lol
@Klangdelta17 жыл бұрын
Brian Taylor It's ok when you're into a specific genre and it is totaly ok saying that you don't like this song. But again they said everywhere everytime that this album is going to be completely different and Danny even said multible times that they are kind of a new band. Fans should have been prepared. If you don't like the new stuff, just listen to the old records. With that first Comment I just wanted to say that some people need to calm down and appreciate the artists work.

Matt Roberts it's like suicide silence though. To me The Black Crown is totally different than The cleansing but had the same general suicide silence sound. Asking sounds different every time. The only reason I know it's them is because of Danny's voice. Could be completely different musicians and it wouldn't matter as long as Danny is there. I feel like they are just searching but never find a core sound to work around and evolve upon
