The results of vote in the end prooved that we as the indians are comfortable of the whatever situation we are facing and accept dictatorship of the police, politics and curroption. Thats so sad i was not expecting this as a result... And the reason of this result is that we as an indians usually think emotionally and whenever someone blames ourself or anything which is related to our culture we don't like it, and thats where mani shankar played its game, And suhel was very direct to the point that we are not against the democracy but how it is implemented in the country and its consequences to the poor class people which is almost 80%. We as a indians all know how politicians and police is dictatoring all indians on their hands.

I am from south India and began studying this topic with a completely different mindset but I cannot cannot accept something as truth when things are not clear.The idea of a common ancient language, Indo-European, supposedly spoken thousands of years ago, from which our languages derive, was a theory invented in the 19th century in order to explain the unexplainable, similar to when we do not understand a process in nature we say it is a miracle..cont..

What more William's statement about india's democracy as a work in progress when a counter arguement can easily refuted that very notion is an utter lack of foresight on williams part, as it was mention before india's democracy has been in the state of degradation, so how i wonder can that be equated to be considered a work in progress when actually is a work in regress, proofs that the panel is simply ill equipped and zealots of their respective ideologies

BUT going with the spirit of what Mr Akbar said I now firmly believe that all of us belong to races which are sub sets of one great African Race..because in reality thats what ALL of us REALLY are..and it has been proven beyond doubt..and this is the only conclusion to this dilemma. Cheers :)

democracy is not a 100% remedy for every problem in a country or society, it is just a combined effort of its people to come at a most logical answer and conclusion which may not be correct.

I never said one is above or below. I said it is important to know what race I belong to. Infact, no hindu scripture(I am a hindu) says that. I can disprove you if you show quotes otherwise. Actually, it is you who must read why race/lineage is important. Read why the crown of england is still revered in England.

The linguist" influence" you are talking about Sir is most probably of the Indian influence on the people of central asia instead the other way round....The entire Vedic Liturature is silent on this issue and maintains that India is the original homeland of the Aryans , the existence of the mighty Saraswati in the vedic texts and the mentioning of its drying up also indicates that the Vedic Indians were here long before the Europeans claim....but I dont think these things matter that much Now

Does it matter to you who your father is? I am not being rude. Think about it. Ancestors denote one's lineage. Every one in the world places great importance to this. I do not understand why the so-called secular(psuedo secular) indian people like you think it is not important. Learn about respect, culture and importance of history. Don't stay a fool. I think he meant that there were no racial qualifications for being called an Indian. As for the Aryans, DNA studies show that the Indian gene pool has remained consistent over millenia, but that doesn't mean the 'Aryan' race was indigenous. There was definite cultural influence from the north (Central Asia..Turkmenistan etc), possibly by means of 'smaller' tribes of people, and while There is no archeo evidence for the formerly assumed invasion there is linguistic evidence for the influence.

I agree that it doesn't really matter anymore. But it doesn't seem likely that it was India where the culture comes from because, for instance, the use of chariots in the early literature. The indus people were not familiar with horses. India cannot be the point of origin of that culture because then that would mean the entire language tree of Indo-European languages has to be redefined, even though there is evidence of Proto Indo European language from Central Asia.

I think we can be aware of racial differences, if any even existed, and still be united. And in the same spirit, I'd say there is the human race, and that is it. But I agree with the essence of what you are saying.

I too take exception to that "race" remark. But, modern DNS studies have shown that most Indians are pretty much the same. That is put simply. Whatever it be there is NO race called Aryan.

I think Mani went a little overboard when he said" Indians have different race"..I think he does not know that modern DNA studies have proven that all Indians are Aryans and the Aryan race is indigenous to India. The great Sri Aurobindo also came to a similar conclusion , and why just Indians, Hell ! ALL Pakistanis & ALL Bangladeshis are Aryans too.

You're wrong there, the North-East of India is Indo-Tibetan !!! And the some parts of India, eg, Andaman & Nicobar Islands are actually African !!! There has been studies regarding their anthropological ancestry as to whether they are at the root of evolution of the African race as well ...

NO Sir all Indians are one race.I am a student of Human Genetics and hence I am well informed with the studies done in this regard..The American Journal of Human Genetics recently published a detailed study regarding the issue.The findings of this new research clearly proved that people all over India have common genetic traits and origin. All Indians have the same DNA structure. No foreign genes or DNA has entered the Indian mainstream in the last 60,000 years.

@Alucard Nobody is saying that the migration never happened .Sir that is the correct understanding of the topic as far as genetics is concerned . There are only three Human racial types and in India we find that the majority of the population falls under that Caucasian racial type and the north east population under the mongoloid racial type .

@Alucard The migration did happen and thanks for being sensible enough to use the term ' migration ' .....In genetics we dont use these terms anymore . Instead we use the term ' Ancient North Population Group ' and ' Ancient South Population Group ' ....and both these groups migrated from eastern Africa . One via land and the other via sea rout and the latter one was the first to reach Indian shores . Sir both the so called Aryans or North Indians and the so called Dravidians or south indians genetically come under the Caucasoid racial type . Hence I wrote that Indians are one race . This thing is clear on all genetic charts .
