Summer Camp tells the story of Nora (Keaton), Ginny (Bates), and Mary (Woodard), who have been best friends since being inseparable at summer camp. As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less and less, so when the chance to reunite for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly and others excitedly. Each of their lives might not be where they’d imagined, but one thing is for sure - Nora, Ginny, and Mary need each other, and summer camp reminds them why.

My sister is an extra in this! She played one of the campers who attended the reunion. Looks like a fun film to see. Diane Keaton is one I love watching, but she will never let go of the high necks, long sleeves and felt berets. It’s summer camp - lord, dress for SUMMER.

@KerryTrout-vk2fb She's pretty much the same way in real life. My brother and I were at Disneyland one summer in the early 2000s. My brother and I were in line for a ride and we both saw her. Mom was a fan of her films so we instantly recognized her but we stayed in line.She wasn’t wearing a turtleneck, but she did have on a long sleeve blouse and dark colored beret. She had a posse of bodyguards who she immediately signaled to surround her. In the drive home we told mom we saw her and she told us she saw her on Its A Small World and that she was being a total B¡+c# ! 😆 Hearing mom cuss was hilarious!

That's the difference between film and television. They probably did that because it's a movie and the Emmy's are for television. Golden Globe is for both film and television. They most likely highlighted his Golden nomination for the movie Best In Show.

I would love to see a movie just with seasoned Black women. We never get to just see ourselves in all the major roles. I just turned 60 this year and it would be awesome to have a rom-com movie about golden Black women and where we are in our lives right now: older, wiser, educated, church-going, community leaders, widowed, divorced, retired, dealing with menopause, grown children (live-ins, finding themselves estranged, etc.) grandchildren, health challenges, etc. through our own eyes, and not always through the eyes of other races and writers, or as sidekicks of other races. Veteran actresses such as Loretta Devine, Jenifer Lewis, Alfre Woodard, Debbie Allen, Phylicia Rashad, Lyn Whitfield, Whoopi Goldberg to name a few. And their husbands, significant others, ex-spouses, new love interests, friends could be Dennis Haysbert, Samuel L. Just finished watching, Summer Camp, via Spectrum on demand, I thought it was a good movie, I've always liked Diane Keaton and Kathy Bates, Eugene Levy was a trip, Dennis Haysbert the Allstate Insurance guy, he was great in this movie, shocked Beverly D'Angelo from all the Griswalds movies was in it, the movie had its moments, but the last 45 minutes or so is the best parts and the true meaning of living, finding purpose of life after decades of work and making life meaningful after retirement, the bloopers at the end cracked me up, lol, rotfl, I thought it was cool to know it was filmed in Hendersonville NC., been through there many times.
