There is rain in the forecast and my hay is still not covered with a hay tarp. Tarps are delivered and ready. All that needs to be done now is to cover the hay and rebuild one side of the fence for the hay pen.

These are all registered cattle. So they have more pronounced or distinct names. Bella's name is actually Pride's Ms Abstract 331K.

I like what you are doing. I would recommend you putting down native grasses for summer and winter. That way you have grasses growing all year round without having to feed them hay. Putting down native grasses should save you money in the long run.

I like your thinking!! I need to explore more. I’ve talked to a few folks that told me it’s not possible in my area. The best I can hope for is grass 10 months out of the year. Appreciate your post!

@@PrideRanch Check out Hamilton Native Outpost. They only use native grasses. Also, look into tree hay. This is an old accient practice. Also, Agrofostery is something else I would recommend you to research. There are quite a few trees you can use for fodder. I hope this help. Keep up the great job.

Cows are fantastic swimmers we had 4 escaped from their field and swam over the river and onto the neighbours place so we had to go and fetch them home again we put them in a different field where there was ❤ no river mate

My herd got out once. At least about half of them got out. My fence had a huge hole. I had to get them back over from the neighbors. Then I patched up the fence.

Just a suggestion, keep them out of your pond. Like what you’re doing, look forward to future videos.

Appreciate that!! My buddy Jeff has told me the same. I haven’t figured out how to solve that problem yet. This is their main water source on the south pasture

Put a rock skirt in so they can stand on that and hot wire around the pond to keep them out.

Big Daddy would say keep the pond as back up. Don't let the cattle walk in it to pollute it. Put a geyser in it to scare the cattle. 1🕵👀💅

What type grass do you have for grazing?

Great question. My warm season grass is coastal. I usually plant a winter rye grass every October.
