These are all registered cattle. So they have more pronounced or distinct names. Bella's name is actually Pride's Ms Abstract 331K.

How often do you clean out the creep feeder? You really take care of your ranch and cattle. Love to see it! 👏🏽👏🏽🩷 Oh and why is it called a Creep Feeder? 😊
@PrideRanch9 сағат бұрын
Good morning! I don't know where the name came from. The feed is a dry feed. So I clean it out anytime it rains. They won't eat if it is wet.

Why can't you give them a local pain med??? How do they get those,& how or can it be avoided?? Appreciate any knowledge based answer,thank you!!
@PrideRanch15 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much for asking. I really appreciate it. Your questions show the same concern for my cow that I have. She was given pain meds. I unfortunately didn't record that in the video.

Love watching your channel! I saw you use purina in the creep feeder for the calf’s but I was wondering what feed are you feeding out of the other automatic feeder for your mature calf’s and heifer’s!?
@PrideRanch15 сағат бұрын
Great question! I typically use a custom feed mix. I work with the Producere's co-op in my town. This approach requires me to order at least 4 tons at a time. And this time I only needed one ton. Also I typically don't give this feed to mature cows. It can be too expensive. And a mature cow has different protein and energy needs vs a growing heifer calf or bull calf. thanks for watching!

So females have horns to?
@PrideRanchКүн бұрын
We call a female cow either a heifer or a cow. She is a heifer if she has never birthed a calf. Cows or heifers can have horns. I raise polled cattle. Polled cattle is one that naturally does not have horns.

They can rebale the ones that didn't get wrapped. Occasionally with those JD round balers they will show on the monitor that the bale wrapped when it actually didn't. I've had that happen a couple of times. I use a JD 4430 and 567 baler.

Are you Usually there for the birth of all of your calves, and if so, have you ever lost any in birthing of you calves ?
@PrideRanch2 күн бұрын
thanks for asking! I'm not. I've been there for like 8 to 10 of them. I've never lost any during calving. I've lost 3 calves after they were born. One died within 3 days of birth and the other 2 died within 5 days.

Are the Steers more aggressive than the others. Can their temperament be calmer or will it become calmer as they become older? Just asking.
@PrideRanch2 күн бұрын
Great question. The docility of the animal is partly genetics and partly animal husbandry. Most of my calves heifers, bulls, and steers are docile. I always get one or two in a year that no matter what they are flighty and/or easily irritated.

Deniro was chewing and saying to himself don't thank me too soon for not jumping. I love to see him !! Also, thank you for explaining the tags but, I have a question. Why are some called commercial calves or cows?
@PrideRanch2 күн бұрын
Great question! Some of my cattle are registered cattle. These are the ones with a pedigree or papers. You get to see their bloodlines. The cattle with no papers we call commercial. Commercial cattle are the set I use for my farm to table business.

Love the way you greet the cattle by name ❤😊. Beautiful cattle and property
@PrideRanch2 күн бұрын
Thanks!! I started my herd with pretty good genetics. Some of my cattle are registered with pedigrees. So the beauty is in part due to the genetics and the rest would be my management practices to care for the animal.
