From one weary mama to another... I appreciated your openness. :) I feel the Lord is letting us be "pressed" at this time... to test our faith. Something will truly be gained from this, for the better. It's definitely a back and forth of emotions. But thanks for this! "......Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed." Prov. 11:25

I loved the long video- got lots done around the house while watching and listening. I am much older than you (50 😱), but I relate really well to your views on things. I am reading between the lines, and yes, you are so wise to not speak to certain things, and I, too, have been taking time to process. We have the same sign up system at church. I reserved spots for us this past Sunday, and it was so great to be there on Father’s Day. I’m sorry, but going to church is essential for so many of us, and I agree that this feels like an attack on church. Enjoy the time away with your family. I’ve never been camping, but you are making me want to try. I live in Oregon, so it’s the perfect place, and as I get older, I love being outside more and more. Thanks for coming back and sharing your day in the life and your thoughts. ❤️

Because the casinos pay a ton of $ in taxes and churches don’t. They can’t make $ off of churches, so they won’t open them. It’s absolutely ridiculous! I’m so glad y’all were able to get a camping trip in! We are fortunate to have a seasonal camping spot for our camper, so we set up in the Spring and are good to go until our campground closes in November. Camping has seemed to be the only truly “normal” thing since all this began. It’s always so refreshing to go spend the weekend and see our camping neighbors laughing and having a good time while cruising around in our golf carts and boats!

It's honestly religious discrimination. It's the same in MN, but the church leaders here decided to stand up and demand the same treatment, so now we are open at 50%. I'm really happy that we are able to go again. Hang in there!

I don’t often comment, but I wanted to tell you that you are such an inspiration to me. I have 4 girls, similar in ages to yours with the exception of a late in life 2 year old🤣 ( at 35 ). I can understand how you feel about social media and the likes. My husband and I don’t have social media, in any form. We did, and discovered how painful, hurtful and ugly it can truly be. We live on the East Coast, in a very restrictive state ( masks are required everywhere ) and we are still in partial Phase 2. My heart is with you, as a fellow homeschooling Mama. Whatever you choose to do in the future with your videos, I wanted you to know how truly impactful they’ve been to me and my family. Thank you from the depths of my soul for sharing everything that you do . I honestly believe the Lord guided me to your channel for the comfort I feel when I watch them🙏🏻

Your skin is looking so good, very bright and refreshed. I live in central FL and while things have started to open only about 50% still, it’s mandatory that you wear a mask at all times. So that makes things difficult especially with younger kids. My daughter (5) had a dentist appointment we had to wait outside and wear mask the whole time even when they were looking at her teeth, they would pull it up and down on her face. I mean. It’s still hard. My daughter and I have now been outside a total of 3 times since March. The virus is spreading faster than ever here now too. Imagine going to a playground to play with a mask on. It sucks. But, the devil won’t get us!

Can't wait to take the kids camping. For now we've been testing it out in the backyard, we have several wildlife that stops by and it's nice to observe them. I'm used to camping out on the water on our boat, I admit I'm a bit scared to camp out in the wild. At least the wild I'm not used to. But always looks like fun! We're on the hunt for a (new to us) second vehicle since our van decided to retire early. I miss Dan the van, but I refuse to junk him. So for now he is resting in the garage. We were thinking about a Nissan Armada, but haven't heard much good about them. I saw a Tahoe, but it's so hot here in the South, not sure I can go back to leather. HOpe you all have a great time.

I have been praying for you Ashlee! I missed your DITL but I TOTALLY understand why you took a break! Finding boundaries is a good thing! I am catching up on videos now as I am recovering from a foot surgery! Hopefully when it is all healed up I will be able to walk for exercise again!! I had a bone shortened in my 2nd toe. I need to get back on the camping bandwagon.. we love it when we go but it is so much work to get there when we almost always serve on Sundays at church. I think it is crazy that you guys have such high restrictions.. we just entered phase 3 today.. but it is kinda silly since things are at 75% capacity but you still have 6ft of distance from people... so our church will be having their first in person service on Sunday (we meet in high school theater) and we will be able to fit 65 people. Which is less than 1/3 the fire marshal capacity. You motivated me to fold my laundry right along with you! :) My husband and I have been talking a lot about how this whole pandemic has us realizing what is most needful and important and if nothing else, it has helped us to live in the present (which is super hard). We're in phase 2 here in Oregon, which doesn't mean much, and our county is one of 7 that is required to wear masks in public indoor spaces (except for children 12 years old and younger). Phase 3 means having reliable treatment and/or a vaccine, so it may be a year or more of this weirdness. Who knows. This whole thing has made me more grateful for connections that I am able to maintain with those I love via technology, the people who live in my home (I feel really bad for those who live alone especially right now), and for homeschooling. Thank you for all you do and share with us. I think most of us probably liked your DITL videos because your videos always make us feel like we're sitting down with a friend. :) Have a great camping trip!

Loved this video so much Ashlee. I needed this two weeks ago when I took my two girls camping without my husband! It was rough, lol. We ended up using a big gift card in town for all our suppers because I couldn’t get the campstove or fire going. 😂 It was so nice to get away and do something though. Our church has been open the entire time (we have a great sheriff who supports us) even though our state (NC) is in phase 2. There is something powerful about being gathered together for corporate prayer, pushing back the darkness. Satan knows this and I feel like he’s trying to divide and conquer while we are isolated and separated. Maybe you can get a group of ladies together for prayer. That is something that I have had the privilege to be a part of as well during all this, and let me tell you, it is so encouraging and powerful! Anyway, you and your family are in my prayers. We are all learning our boundaries, and it’s important to keep your heart and mind safe. “...guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Proverbs 4:23. 🌻

Thanks for your continued honesty and willingness to be vulnerable. I think you have built a following who will in general encourage you. May the negative be few and far between. Being on the mission field has its own challenges with these strange days. And its been frustrating to watch the barriers increase, for sure... Flying aircraft to the bush where people are desperate for basic health and education and survival needs has been put on hold. I wonder how many people have been forced into suffering far worse, or even faced death, because no one is allowed to come and help them. We feel like our hands are tied. Friends of mine who are here to plant churches, can't do that right now. I know of so many people stranded in their passport country, wishing they could get back to the mission field. Others who planned to furlough this year, and can't. Families are literally stranded apart from one another because of border crossing restrictions. I try and remind myself that historically people have lived through far worse in wars and such.. but this seems so self-inflicted somehow. Only the Lord knows what the future holds. And I have to give my frustration to Him. I don't understand the big picture. I'm glad I'm not part of making big decisions in communities (although sometimes I wish I were ;)...... I hope camping was restful. I watched, wishing we could go camping somewhere also. Love your channel.

Churches here in Ontario Canada have reopened slowly over the last two weeks in our version of phase 2. They are not considered essential. Go figure eh. And once we went back, the rules just for getting in the door are insane in some parishes. It's easier to walk into home Depot with 500 other people than to go to Mass with 30% capacity.

I haven't seen the inside of a restaurant for quite some time! At church, we have only had outdoor services and we don't really social distance but we don't hug unless others want too! I think there is an attack on all churches and it is frustrating but we will come out better than before if we allowed this time away to spend it getting closer to the Lord! Love your ditl videos and don't grow weary! God will walk you (us) through this and he will carry your burdens! :-)

I couldn't agree with you more about the whole worship service stuff. So much for separation of church and state... Things seem to be pretty good here in Texas masks are not required, but most doctors office are asking people to wear them and pretty much all employees at all business are "required" to wear some kind of face covering. We are devoted believers in Jesus and love worship with others as well, but we don't attend a preset regular schedule topical Sunday service. But the one we use to attend years ago is small and they have everyone ones skip a pew and wear masks, but I believe they are at full capacity, but like I said its a smaller group. I'm sure if we talked face to face we could on a rant together about all this and quite agree on it as well. Thanks for sharing! I think the reason we like this type of video so much is because it really feels like a chat with a good friend!! Kinda weird, but really I think we're friend at least online for sure :).

Finally got to watch this video. Thanks for sharing!! 💗 I totally understand how you are feeling. It’s hard to take in everything that is happening in our nation/world and so fast! Also, the church is being attacked and it makes NO sense why other things can be open at 50% but NOT churches!! Insane!! Some church leaders are truly trying to navigate all this while I believe others are fearful and/or asleep! We as believers have to gather! There is power when we gather together! Many people don’t know this but pastors do not qualify for unemployment! The provision of faithful biblical pastors, worship pastors, etc is also a hardship on the line! Have you heard of or listen to Heidi St. John? She is great and I think you would like her. Blessings!! ❤️

The churches that are not allowed to open yet need to have drive in church. I am in SC and at the 3rd week of that I was so desperate and run to the first church that did drive in. They need to be creative and fellowship somehow else. We are open here now but it was so much needed. Enjoy the vacation!!

Yes! We were able to have drive-in church til ours opened and it was a blessing! I know some places don't have very large parking lots or some pastors are human and scared and I feel bad for them.

That is awful about church. I'm in nebraksa and our governor made special rules to allow churches to open earlier than any other gathering place...and now our restrictions are more relaxed all over.

So many times lately I’ve considered deleting my social media. It makes me so sad seeing the way people are talking to each other (or at others). The only reason I haven’t is because I don’t have a personal homeschool community, so you and others I follow here and on IG give me that sense of community in homeschooling. So, I want to say thank you for continuing to share your journey ❤️

First I know for me I’m not usually into ditl videos but during the quarantine it was like spending time with a friend when I watched your videos. Much needed. Second I’m in California so we are still very closed up here too. Still no church for us either except ours has drive up communion. Third how do you do so many vacations economically. I would love to travel that much but hotels etc add up. Do you mostly camp. We have a baby so I’m not sure camping will happen for us for another year or so.

Our nation is in a sad state. In my state we can have a protest and gather 100 or more people but limit churches to so many people. How do you get all your camping gear in your car? Do you have to use a trailer or do you get it all in?

Wow Ashlee I can feel your frustration listening to you.....I would be feeling the same way. The persecution of the church (the people) is building up.... :( If it wasnt for our Supreme Court overruling our Governor we'd be more like your state. He tried to appeal it but it hasnt gone anywhere. Each business sets up there own mandates which is fine. This is a huge growing point for us as a body of Christ because our comforts are being stripped in different ways.... I have been praying for your family and the authority your husband holds outside the home in his work. Stay strong in the Lord Ashlee you were created for such a time as this! God planned for us to be going through this turbulent time for a reason. Im glad your still here you're very encouraging as a mom, homeschool family and a Christian. Hugs!!! I remember your Laundry chats back in the day....been here for a while ;)

I can't say I completely understand because well I'm not a content creator. I'm just a viewer, but I do understand privacy and feel you shouldn't have to explain yourself. I'm grateful to know how you are, but I have only ever expected to see and know what your willing to share. But also if I'm being honest you are hands down favorite youtuber and I really enjoy your channel and how it has grown to what it is now. For me I guess it's pretty easy to share being its only a comment and not many pay much attention. But for those making video I can see where its hard to draw the line and take the good and leave all the bad/hate comments. Because even if we expect them its still hurtful. I don't want you to go...:( :( :( But that easy for me to say...I don't FB, IG, or do much on social media... I have account but don't post or read much except for youtube. I watch way too much. Just know you have to follow where God leads your heart and you will always been in prayers even if you go! And if I ever make it to you area may we can meet at Starbucks and I'm get a mug. :) love and hugs!!!!

Thanks for sharing Ashlee. I am sure it has been tough on your family with all that is going on in the world, especially with the work Jake does . I would be so lost without your videos. I feel like I am visiting a friend each time you post. Ive learned so much from you, yet I am older. You are mature beyond your years. We have never been camping. Now I want to try. We live in Southern California. We are thinking of renting a camper and driving cross country to take our twins on an historical journey,. Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC & Williamsburg Va. I am just not sure I can help with the drive. Ive never driven a camper. My hubby says I can do it, Well see. Be bless my friend. God is on His Throne.

Hi, the government does not have authority to control churches biblically. It is sad that churches are allowing the government to do that. If you would like biblical teachings about that then find Hope Bible Church on KZbin and go under the "videos" tab for chronological teachings about current events and biblical order. I enjoyed the video!

Its so weird. I live in South Africa as you probably know already. And we now on lockdown level 3. Also odd only 50 people allowed at church. Just before this week restaurants were still closed and salons as well. But only now we are reopening. Slowly. But there is still limits. We not allowed out of province. We not allowed to have weekends away etc. Hiking places only started opening the last 2 weeks slowly 1 by 1. We have to wear mask EVERYWHERE and being pregnant walking and hiking with a mask is not easy. I am exhausted. We “still” not allowed to have home gatherings. Cigarettes are still banned from our country. (I hate smoking so it does not bother me but just to give an idea) alcohol is now allowed but limited. The rules are so confusing. Our government has borrowed so much money. So much corruption. We as a country is in so much debt. It is so sad. I don’t think our country is going to make it 😭 we have such a beautiful country. There is more I want to say but can’t say everything I want publicly. I totally understand your energy etc. So excited you can go away. I wish we could. Enjoy it. 🌸
