The first minutes of this episode cracked me up! Mayim, I can smell tha patchouli from my European corner! And it still didn’t let my laugh stop with “What Mayim/Jonathan hears”!! But after this, it was SPECTACULAR the way the topics were covered in the episode: from Body dismorphia to Narcisistic personality, from Gratitude to Listener people (as one myself, a blessing & a curse at the same time)..From recurring dreams (Jonathan, I use to dream I fly..so I finally dare to do delta hang gliding and paragliding and experienced a wind tunnel once, but my dreams were even better🦅!) to the so well explained by Mayim difficult topic of science vs religion, of knowledge that leads us to faith making us feel so small amazed by outer Universe & atomic subparticles, by Nature & Mankind. As much I dive in Science as humbly close I feel myself to the unattainable notion of the Divine that transcends religions. WOW!! If someone has expected that these summer episodes would be light ones..they’re as extraordinary ones as regular season ones!

How I adore these supposedly lighter but full of knowledge “Summer Episodes”! Specially this BEST OF MAYIM & JONATHAN” recap! It gives us a funny full insight of Mayim, JC and the “binomial” M&JC (because here isn’t 1+1=2 but much more..growing accelerating). The “What XX hears” of both of them are specially funny but gave us a lot about how their brains, hearts & relationship work that somehow I feel I’m intruding in a very private world! As a woman with academic training in biology, cultural ecology/geography, ethics and music who’s also had life-changing, mystical experiences, I truly appreciate what Mayim says about Western “science” and religion. That said, as an empath, it’s important to consider that needing to say no to folks who “feel” overwhelming can be difficult. This is especially true if one has been taught (as I was) to always be generous, forgiving and willing to turn the other cheek. (Which can be a precursor to passive aggressive behavior.) I now think it’s vital to learn boundaries & the skill of letting go of energies one has picked up and/or held in one’s body. Speaking of which, have you thought of interviewing the author of The Body Keeps the Score?

Hey Dr Bialik. I admit I sometimes get nervous when I want to talk to my family even though I shouldn't be. I also once got overexcited because I thought you DMd me on Instagram but it turned out to be a person impersonating you. I also don't have friends in my school and I usually imagine I'm friends with the main characters from Big Bang Theory to deal with that. I also use my imagination to express my feelings or to teach myself things I regret doing

“What do you hear?” I hear brave honesty, and friends who are bold enough to tell each other the truth! I see people getting healthier and stronger, learning how to face reality! Thank you SO MUCH for helping us all learn and laugh this summer! I especially appreciate the advice about anxiety and the phone. I’m going to give some of that a try. My morning and night rituals formerly included times of peaceful reflection, and prayers of gratitude. Life got busy, full of crises and distracted by my phone. I definitely need to get back to the attitude of gratitude and prayer! Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.💜 I definitely at least need a new morning ritual, and you have encouraged me to make it healthier and more spiritual. That definitely has born spiritual fruit in my life in the past. Thank you very much! 💙💪🏽🌻

As an empath we need to practice loving detachment. Observing and responding rather than judging and reacting . I take a breath wait a moment remind myself those aren't my feelings and the chemical response happening in my body dissipates and allows mean time to respond with Wisdom

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and had been disabled for 2 years due to Rheumatoid Disease and complicated migraines. My neurologist called it a very long word because my migraines are by disc degenerate disease. Do you know what it is?

You probably have a case of fibromyalgia due to the breast cancer diagnosis, meaning that the trigger was the breast cancer and since RA is an autoimmune disease. Please talk to your doctor regarding it.

Learning vti lives ourselves and be our own best date makes a better partner .When we love ourselves it's reflected back and we have more love to give . Make a date with yourself even if it means going to dinner alone eating your favorite food and enjoying every bite . Don't obsess about what others are thinking about you being alone . Or take a spa day or make your own dpa at home .If we can't stand being with ourselves no one else will be able to enjoy our company either because we're too needy . Self examination is where healing begins
