I agree that Croatia is an amazing destination, often overlooked by Americans when planning a trip to Europe. I traveled there in late September/early October and the weather was great. Not too hot and I was still able to swim in the Adriatic. One thing not mentioned in the video which I could highly recommend for travel along the coast and to virtually any of the populated islands is the Croatian ferry system The ferries have frequent departures, are reasonably priced and are a great way to see the see the coast and view some of the many islands that lie off the coast. I travelled from Split to Hvar where I spent a few days and then on to Dubrovnik---all by ferry And there are numerous other ferry routes available.

What a nice trip :) Thank you for mentioning the bus system ("coach" - i never heard that word before), that will be very helpfull for our trip. But i'd advice to start even further up nord (if you have a bit more time). Pula, Rovinj, kap Kamenjak, Cres, Krk are so beautiful as well and seem to be overlooked by most travel guides / intinerarys. We will start in Pula (which has an international airport as well) and stay there a few days, maybe with a daytrip to rovinj. Then head over to cres, including boat trips to krk and/or rab. After that, we will take the ferry to Zadar, maybe we'll spend a day on dugi otok or otok kornati. Then, we'll drive down to split and from there, we will travel along the islands: Split -> Brac -> Vis -> Hvar -> Dubrovnik. On our way home we'll visit skradin (and krka), sibenik, jasenice, maybe some parts of the velebit mountains, then Plitvička Jezera and Zagreb. I'd love to visit the hometown of my father (near zagreb )too, but that depends on the time we have left

Thank you for the video! A worry I have regarding coaches is bathrooms. I've read from various places that not all of the buses have bathrooms, and this was a change that was covid-related? From what I've gathered it's still unclear as to whether or not they're been phased in again. For longer drives (4-ish hours), only having one stop is not great...
@jacklawsontravel Жыл бұрын
My Partner had this exact worry and we found that most Flix buses that travel a long distance have bathrooms, as most of these coaches travel across multiple countries in one journey and not just in Croatia. Though the Flix Coach we got on from Split to Zadar had a toilet that was out of order. It's hard to say for sure but my advice would be to not drink as much before getting on one just incase.
