So excited to do spy academy this summer!

We plan to work on our remaining subjects loosely through June, but will definitely spend more time outside, going on hikes at local national parks etc before school lets out and those become busy! Then July thru mid August is pretty busy so we likely won't do much school focused work. Two kids are planning a back country camping trip (inspired by the Survival Discovery Deck!!!) in early July. We are traveling home to visit family for the first time since our international move a few years ago. I also decided to tack on an Alaska cruise on the way home from our visit back to the states. We are all looking forward to that a lot! I will probably try to add in a book or some casual learning leading up to that trip to learn all about Alaska, glaciers, gold rush, maybe mushing, etc. We are all pretty worn out from a very very very long winter (it is finally almost spring weather here...almost) and working hard all year so we are definitely ready for warmer weather and a break!

We school through June and July in a relaxed manner. Each of my kids is responsible for their chores, their own laundry on their assigned wash day, daily music practice, participation in library summer reading, and daily math.

We have 2 in public school and 2 who homeschool so I do a light schedule with all 4 so I don't have a riot on my hands lol. (The 2 who PS want their summer break and the other 2 would think it's unfair if they got one and not them). We do similar summer books, a horse camp, camping with family and a trip to the beach.

We do a light schedule in summer and finish anything that wasn’t finished through the year in addition to some fun nature studies (lots of time outside) and new this year we will be using some Discovery Decks and pool schooling!! 🎉

That archery shoot sounds incredible! I'd love to see a video from it, if you're able to film any while there. Archery looks and sounds like such a great whole family sport to learn. It sounds like Emily will have a blast this summer! I'm gonna check out that Spy unit right now. I'm homeschooling just our youngest this year, as all of his siblings have graduated. He's 10 and cannot have long breaks without massive losses in retention. So we are schooling through the end of June and then taking July through mid August off. Although to be honest, there will still be reading, math and spelling happening weekly. We love to play games, and that will be the bulk of what we do those 6 weeks we're "off".
