My mother used to take cucumbers and slice them thin along with thin sliced onions and VERY thin sliced garlic glove and would mix with vinegar, salt, pepper, little bit on onion and garlic powder and dill. Let sit in fridge for a couple of hours and eat up.

My grandma always did cucs with onions then add 50% water and 50% vinegar, top with celery salt. I think it's the thing that screams summer to me those most.

I’m a newer subscriber. I asked I another video where you were from. Mostly to compare what I can grow to what you’re growing. It seems many other channels are farther south and have longer growing seasons, or a totally different region. I’m happy to say I’m from Ohio too. Kind of east central. My husband and I are empty nesters now, but are starting our own gardens adding a little at a time each year. This is summer #3. I took up canning three years ago too. (I always canned homemade jams and simple stuff though). But seven years ago we had to go dairy and gluten free. I started canning soups, meats, veggies etc because of dietary restrictions. So many things in the stores have gluten or dairy and it’s hard to make a simple meal when you have to cook everything from scratch. Any recipe you have that’s gluten and dairy free I’m on it! Now I can have a few cheeses, but not my husband. I have yet to look back at all your older videos. I’m looking for a good gluten and dairy free everyday bread.

Happy 4th Birthday Benjamin 🎂. Wow, I remember you wearing him in the videos! You’ve been an inspiration since day 1 but detoured a bit from typical gardening. Hub & I have planted 23 trees w/3 more going in today. Persimmons, Pears, Apple, Pecan & Chestnuts. We’ve faced obstacles each year (hub is Cancer Survivor, I was hit by a car/several surgeries/spinal fusions,etc.) so while healing and keeping a small garden, I’ll be harvesting Autumn fruit & nuts. Hopefully turning them into homemade Christmas treats & gifts. Love&Blessings from Central PA, Belinda

I made a hamburger onion diced potatoes Brown or we'll them added 6 scrambled eggs tossed toll eggs are dome then topped it with shredded mild cheddar cheese and was it a hit no leftovers. I'm thinking of just using it for breakfast burritos and freezing some of them.

Potatoe prices are going to go way up ! I ordered 50 pounds of potatoes and also carrots to can up for this coming year from Azure .so have potatoes growing in our gardens too ! That is going to be good, as potentially potatoes are going to be one of the crops to come in on the shortage list ! Great video !

I have found that when I cook potatoes for potato salad, if I chill the potatoes in the refrigerator before I add the sauce they stay firm, it also does not need as much sauce.

I just bought 3 5lb bags of potatoes they were on sale, I'm going to chop them up into small bite size pieces and freeze them. I like to cook potatoes like that in foil on the grill in the summer, very yummy.

Many years ago I worked at a restaurant and we used those same canisters for whipped cream. You need to shake shake shake the cannister after you dispense the cartridge and it eill really help thicken up your whip cream. Love your videos! Thank you

The A/C running constantly is expensive 😄 When my husband was saved a few years ago, he had never heard the story of The Walls of Jericho. In my naivete, I was surprised to find out he hadn't heard of many Bible stories. I love that you are teaching your kids in the way they should go. I pray they will continue that into their older years as I'm sure that is your prayer also!

Something to look for in your area, your baker probably would love taking a cake decorating class. Not sure on bdays but I think that would be a great gift for him .my mom took all the Wilson decorating class years and years ago, I was took to many of them and even learned a little. Considering one. We currently have a camp stove with a cast iron griddle, but the grease collection is messy and I don't want it on the new deck where it could spill and ruin the wood. A Blackstone seems less messy.

@@threerivershomestead I found our 36 in. Black stone on clearance at Walmart in May of 2023 for $222. We got our grill at the end of summer clearance sale at Lowe’s the year before. 🙂
